These have an excellent authentic aged look with layers of various colored paint peeking out beneath the white overcoat(s) There are no breaks. Chips or cracks in the glass. Windows need cleaning of film, cobwebs, dirt, etc. One of the panes is charmingly and slightly mismatched in a light aqua, others less obviously so(maybe made before standardized glass batches. These are sturdy and well-constructed heavy windows. With a few small and limited age cracks to wood at one of the joints, old painted-over former latch or lock hardware locations, and great old-style construction. These were salvaged in the late 1990s off an old house being demolished near Salisbury. Connecticut. Each measures approximately 31" across by 29" tall by 1 1/8" thick. Vintage wood windows/doors, Lot 4, 1" & 3/4" thick, 25/28" x 45/47",1901, 2 Pair
Offered is a lot of 4 window frames. Or two matching pairs. Windows came from a home built in 1901. Pick up only- Seattle area near Space Needle or can deliver for mileage fee of $50.00 within 25 mile radius of Space Needle. Ferry tolls additional if needed. Payment required prior to pick up or delivery. One pair of the window frames are 3/4 inch thick and each frame has two panels of glass. All sections of glass in both panels is old wavy glass and the glass appears perfect with no cracks nor starts of them in any of the 4 panels. Few areas could use update on putty. This 3/4 inch thick pair is 47 1/8 inches tall by 25 1/8 inches wide. The glass area-top sections are 18 by 20 3/4 inch approx. and the lower sections are 22 by 20 3/4 inch approx. Original latches(matching) on both frames and hinge portions. The other similar but not identical ... moreone pair is 1 inch thick and one frame is missing its glass. Both frames measure 28 3/4 inch wide by 45 1/4 inch tall by 1 inch thick frame. The glass area is approx. 24 inches by 40 inches. Identical original latches and portions of the hinges are on the frames. The frame with the original wavy glass. Needs putty and I have secured the getting loose glass into the frame to avoid breakage with a nail& cardboard you will see in the photo. There are no cracks, nor starts of them, evident on the glass in this panel. The frame with the missing glass has a matching latch, is same size, and is included because of this and maybe useful. One area of the wood frame wiggles abit and may need reinforcements. All windows have been stored indoors and in a dry environment for many years. I see no rot or wood deterioration. This is a nice old pair of expanding window screens(I remember my grandma’s house had them) The size is 14 ½” high x 19 ¾” when closed. They extend out to 33” when fully opened. The sides are made of wood and the top& bottom tracks are metal. They have definitely been used and have some great weathered character to them(light scratches. Paint speckles, wear marks, etc. but I would say they are in good, solid, vintage working condition. Here is a nice pair of vintage early shutters with original dark green paint. These are the rare movable louver design. Some of the louvers open-and-shut freely and others may require some work to free them up. They are the mortise and tenon design and feature wooden peg joinery. These are in excellent condition for their age. There is a shallow 4 inch area on the bottom of one shutter showing a little dry rot(see pic) Most of the hardware is attached. I have several identical to these that are rotted on one end. They can be quite easily rebuilt if you need more of this size or certainly very well suited for parts. I will be listing them separately at a reduced price. The true size of these is approximately 58-1/2" by 27-1/4" for the pair.Thus. Each shutter is about 13-3/4" wide. Antique Bulls Eye Glass Window Panes pair of 2 Small French Door Size, Clear
Antique set of 2 bulls eye glass window panes. Unusual find& don't know much about them. The bullseye portion is glazed/attached to the 2nd larger piece of glass. In excellent condition. No cracks. The overall measurements are 11.5" x 6.5" The smaller pane with the bullseye, which is fused to the larger pane, measures 8 1/4" x 5 3/4" The bullseyes protrude approx. 1 inch. and show a blue/green cast to the glass. I believe these panes were in a set of french doors in an old house. Excellent find for a restoration project, art, or whatever you can think of! Thanks for looking! I HAVE SEVERAL PAIR OF THESE VICTORIAN GREEN SHUTTERS. TAKEN OFF MY HOUSE IN THE EARLY 70'S AFTER IT WAS SIDED AND STORED IN THE BARN ALL THESE YEARS. THE HOUSE WAS BUILT IN 1869 AND I HAVE A PICTURE OF THE HOUSE WITH THE SHUTTERS ON IN THE 1800'S. THESE ARE A GREAT SIZE TO MAKE A TABLE BASE. OR JUST FOR THE INSIDE OF A WINDOW.
