19th Century Green Sulphide Star Curtain Tie Backs
Up for auction is a very nice pair of Victorian sulphide glass curtain tie backs with green star center design filigree brass surround attached to turned wooden posts. The glass medallions are just under 2” in diameter and rise.5" from the brass surround. The brass surround is 2.75” in diameter and the wooden posts are 3.25” long with 1.5” screws. 19th Century Shutter Windows from France
This auction is for a pair of 19th century shuttered windows from France. The craftsmanship on these windows is fantastic. And highlights a lost art. The windows were once green in color, but the color now faded. Both windows do show signs of weathering. The shutter doors- which are slatted- open. Currently the window panes have been replaced by mirrors. The panes are easily replaceable by sliding them from their holders(see pictures) The metal items- hinges, knobs, locks, etc. are old and rusted(see pictures) The size of each window is approximately 78 1/2 inches in length. Antique French bronze coated and braid curtain tie back 19th century
A n antique French curtain tie back dating from last half of 19th century. This came from a grand house full of heavy silk curtains. Ornate braid and trimming and loads of exotic tie backs. The heavy bronze coated"tassels" are about 2.6" long. The twisted golden yellow cord about 44" There is some wearing both to the cord and the bronze.
