It is a great table dating from the 1870s to 1880s. I am confident that it has had an overcoat applied at some point in its past, but it has a warm mellow touch to the medium walnut stain finish. The table consists of walnut and mahogany. It is all hand carved with the floral arrangements on the serpentine skirts and cabriole style legs. The four legs are joined together with cross stretchers in the center with a huge center finial that is an open cup. The overall size is 36 inches long, 26 inches deep and 30 inches high. The overall condition is good and tight. There are a couple of minute chips on the marble that we will detail out prior to shipping.

Gorgeous Antique wormy wood top FARM - style dining table with carved base.
Wow! HEAVY. Solid, with some carvings and the top is burly and fabulous. This table has been in the family for decades. Sadly, as the house it lived in got sold so must the table and other items. It was originally purchased from an antique dealer in Mexico. Came from a wealthy family home there. Begging for benches around it! Seats 12 or more easily. In having someone look at the wood I could not get a definite answer of the type. We are nearly certain it is not mesquite and it could be mahogany but birch is what the grain looks like a bit. Difficult to say. The table was purchased for much more than the asking price here and then had to be shipped. The table is in good condition. Cloudy spots in the images are from the flash of the camera. The table color is the darker pictures. I've included the lighter ones in order to see the table ... moredetails better. Vintage, mahogany accent/buffet/dining table with 5 legs that expands to seat at least 10, maybe 12 with small chairs. It has nice scroll/cut work on the front. This is the perfect table if you have limited space because it allows for increased seating as needed. I only used it as an accent table in my living room but it would make an excellent buffet table, too. Completely closed. It is 20" by 39 1/2" When the top is flipped open, it is 38 3/4" by 39 1/2" This can seat 4 easily. There are three leaves, each is 12" x 39 1/2" Fully opened with all 3 leaves, it can expand to 75 1/2" by 39 1/2" Because it has three leaves, it is very versatile. The three leaves are a bit darker than the table because they ... morewere in a corner in my garage and haven't been exposed to sunlight in years. I think they add to the look of the table by creating a two tone effect with reddish and brownish mahogany tones. There are a few very fine scratches on the top when closed as an accent table. Highly Carved Mohagony Square Wood Side Table. Recessed Round Glass Top Vintage Fantastic side or end table. Vintage if not antique age. This came from an estate in the Chadds Ford PA area. It has a dark finish. I think it's mahogany but I'm not certain. It's roughly 29" tall and the top is about 22" side to side. The glass insert is removable. It has some chips at the edge that are hard to see because they are in the recessed area so wood is under them. The corners are raised up with fantastic carving. There are some worn areas. Where the wood is visible, but no gouges in the wood I've included close up photos of these areas. A little Old English and they will practically disappear.
