The legs have been painted and have a golden brown, glazed finish. The table top is solid wood. It has been hand painted in a modified"checker board" design of black and beige. It is distressed with peeled, worn paint. This is a very beautiful table. It has"bobbin" style legs going from the table top to the top of the magazine rack, then the legs are square down to the very unique legs and pad style feet. The"caning" is in good condition on both sides without any tears or holes. The oak"dividers" on the base are in good shape without any breaks or splits. It has some very unique features compared to most table made in this style. The apron under the top. Has some very pretty carving on the apron and the sides of the apron are"pierced carved" which I have never seen in this style of table before.
