I'd like to tell you I've seen this sort of arrangement before. But never. This is a most unusual drop leaf mechanism. The tapered rod to which I am pointing is held in a spring affair and rests against the skirt when the leaf is up. The old finish is in very fine condition. Waxed and buffed, only an occasional wipe with a soft dry cloth is needed to maintain its warm antique patina. Spiral turned legs are graceful, brass wheels and ferrules appear original on this American made East Coast furniture. Drawers have hand cut dovetail joints and chamfered bottoms. Hand crafted of solid mahogany. The top is a single wide plank with a shrinkage separation from age down the middle. The fine old finish has warm antique patina, and has been waxed and polished. The wood in this wonderful old strong table is 1" thick. From wear. The wood feels like silk to the touch. An elderly Antique Dealer once told me that the way to tell if the piece of furniture is an early piece is to look for SQUARE Nuts(instead of Hexonal Nuts) and this table has square nuts(legs are removable) and is indeed an early piece. This is a beautiful antique or vintage drop leaf side table. I am not sure of what the wood is. Maybe Mahogany? Not really sure. It is about 28 inches tall and about 35 inches wide with both leaves open and about 16 inches wide with the leaves closed. You can open either 1 leaf or both. Antique primative dropleaf table with green paint below table, natural top
The table has tapered legs and some very old nails piercing the surface of the table that give it character. It is 43" wide when open and 42" long. The main top is 21-1/2" wide and a leaf is 10-1/2" wide. The table is 28" high. It is a lovely primative table that I have owned for 40 years and enjoyed it along with the chairs sold separately on Ebay.

This classical dropleaf sewing, work or lamp table has a hopper for needlework projects below two upper drawers. The original finish is remarkably well preserved. With expected wear, losses and touchups for antique patina, see photos. The top is matched flame grain. View our other listings for other fine pieces from this collection. Fresh from an estate collection of antique salesman's samples is this diminutive Sheraton-style dropleaf stand! As you can see in the photos. This diminutive dropleaf night stand(or dropleaf side table) maintains the fine craftsmanship details of a full-size example- and moreso! The beautiful rope legs gently taper, giving the piece both lightness and elegance. The face of the stand has two drawers with all of their veneer intact along with the original hardware. Each dropleaf folds smoothly from vertical to horizontal. We're not certain if it's American, English, or Continental, ... morebut what is clear is that the craftsman who made this did so with the utmost care as a demonstration of his skill(which includes the dovetail joints) The stand measures just 22 3/16" in height, 13 3/8" in width(with the leaves dropped) and 12" in depth. That's about 1/2 scale compared to a normal sized stand. The top of the stand or table measures 26-1/8" x 12" with both leaves raised. Top top and both leaves are all original single boards. We don't have the expertise to accurately date this stand, but we can confidently say that it is at least a hundred years old. It is in very good antique condition, with typical light wear and oxidation in the wood from a century of display and use. One of the leaf brackets is missing, but fortunately the other provides a template to replace it. ANTIQUE DOLL'S / SALESMAN SAMPLE DROPLEAF TABLE MINIATURE CHARMING 11 1/2"
Charming diminutive antique folding drop leaf table- 11 1/2" tall and 15 1/2" in diameter. Not sure if it was made originally as doll furniture. Or perhaps as a salesman's model for a full-size table. Beautifuly constructed, perhaps walnut. Great rich patina to the wood. Stains to the top from old use, as can be seen in the photos. I believe there is an early glued repair to a split in the top, just shy of one of the leaves. A lovely, early miniature table.
