Trade Card This is a trade card advertising Lake Superior Mills"Wonder" Flour. This mill was in operation from 1893. So this card dates to some time after that. It is a stone lithograph printed by Forbes Lith. Co. Boston. The back is printed with info about the company. The company's agents, Kalbach& Mack were from Lebanon, Pa. The image shows a young girl with a loaf of bread tied to the end of a string. She is saying" My balloon is all right Mamma made it of Wonder flour" The other girl has a red balloon and is saying" Oh my! My balloon won't rise" Size is 3-1/2" x 5-1/2. Year: 1848 Map Maker: Heinrich Von Mayr(1806- 1871) studied at the Nuremburg Art School. Later at Munich. He was known as a painter of genre and historical scenes and for his paintings of horses. In 1838 he travelled to Egypt with Prince Maximillian of Bavaria. He produced a number of lithographs for a folio entitled Genre Bilder Gesammelt auf der Orientalischen Reise.
