My Grandmother just passed away recently at the age of 96. So this is pretty old as my Grandpa made it for her shortly after they married and Gram always used it every year working in her large garden to carry her plant starters. Tools, and gloves. She refused to ever upgrade to something new. He pounded it back together several times as she refused to toss it out. It still works great, one side board is warped and could use some repair but other then that it's a nice old piece. Still has some northern Michigan dirt in it too. 3 Antique Garden Folk Art Shabby 21" - 12" Large Whirligigs for Repair or Parts
These whirligigs are in'as found' condition. I purchased them 5 years ago with a bunch of antique garden items and thought that I'd do something with them. But never got around to it. The longest one at 21" is the man with the saw that has no blades. The'tail' is painted tin. It appears to be in working order if new blades were to be attached. His foot needs repaired and his face was never completely painted. When the man is standing erect, it measures 14" tall. The girl in the flower garden is also in working order if blades were attached. She measures 20" long and 13" tall. The one in the worst shape is the man sawing with the missing fan blade. The stand that he is sawing is broken(only needs a replaced dowel) and his wires needs adjusted in order to work(and of course, the blade replaced or repaired) ... moreThey are all dirty from being stored for years. Available is a genuine Victorian cast iron planter. It would perfect either inside or out. We enjoyed this outside for many years. But would like to find it a new home. It is made of iron. Note the decorative scroll work in the center of the pot. They sure don't make'em like this anymore. It's very sturdy. As is to be expected, there is rust and faded paint. See photos. This look is perfect for those who admire the patina and charm of weathered items such as this. I find no cracks. I also find no maker's mark or hallmarks to identify the manufacturer of this wonderful antique pot. Here's the measurements: about 24 1/2 inches long to the end of the handles, about 3 inches wide and about 9 inches tall. I can't find any damage to it with the exception of one area that looks like a few spots where white paint got on it. Yet I'm not sure if it is paint or something else. See last photo. Both sides are decorated with a beautiful swag of Barbola roses. Dates back to the early 1920s. He couldn't give me an exact age. There are a few pieces of wicker broken or wicker stops and starts creating a non continuous piece of wicker.They are where wicker goes under or over a piece of wicker or wire going 90 degrees opposite direction.Maybe easier to understand is some are going north and south and others are going east and west.These are on the inside bottom.There are some stains as seen in the pictures.It is old and has been used as it was meant to be. You are bidding on a UNIQUE and BEAUTIFUL ANTIQUE/VINTAGE HAY(or FIRE) RAKE I'm not sure of its age. And it has no maker's markings. WOW! This is a very large. Heavy rake suitable for hanging on the barn or cabin wall, especially if you like country/primitive/shabby decor. Or. If you prefer, it has plenty of life still left in it as a hay rake or fire rake! The handle is a standard(heavy duty) rake-type handle. Out of which comes a piece of square iron stock. The rake head is made of some type of very dense, heavy wood. possibly oak or ironwood. The tines are simply huge 8"long iron nails. The head of the rake is firmly attached to this stock with a single bolt and square nut. See final photograph. When I ship this to you. It will be disassembled at the nut/bold. All pieces will be included in the shipment. Size(approximate) ... more66" long 28" wide 8" tines(nails) Condition Details: Incredible character/patina and nice uniform surface rust in keeping with its age. The underside is slightly blackened(but just on the surface) So I suspect this was used at least once as a fire rake. A storage barn of an antiques dealer that passed about 10 years ago. She specialized in early primitives and American folk art and boy-oh-boy you do not want to miss this week. I took photos of the items that I bought for one full day, and still am not finished– but decided to go ahead and list what I have– enjoy! Gosh. I just realized that I haven't even started on any of the garden items from the auction- I bought a lot of those too- this is my first one I'm listing, but I'll hurry to get up more soon- I got some very cool unique pieces. This one, not as unique as the others, but still very primitive and cool. It's an antique horse head hitching post top(post not included) a real deal ... moreoldee- not one of the manymany repros that you see today. Made of cast iron, he weighs 8 1/2 lbs heavy and is in excellent solid and sturdy condition structurally. I'm asking if he has a maker's mark in my title because he has a relief diamond on both sides behind his eye- it looks to have dots inside of it too. I couldn't find another exactly like this so was wondering if indeed it's a mark of the maker? He has a beautiful white finish that is shabby, chippy and worn all over, and you can see the darkdark patina of the iron mixed with old dark surface rust in many spots- that's heaven to me! His hitching loop is not painted, so you just see the dark dark iron that actually looks black in some lights- looking closer- it could have been painted black on the ring at one time- just from the peeks of the black. The ring is actually not a ring, it's more of a rounded V shape, and it's open at the top- not soldered all the way- I don't know if you could remove it if you wanted to(maybe with some crafty wiggling, I don't know) but I wanted you to know that it's open in his mouth- I can see when I peek inside and it's about 1/4" of space o

The original paint looks to have been a brown color. Or at least that's the color underneath. Minor paint wear and wood wear, no damaged wicker to speak of. Their only main flaw is that there is a some light warping overall to the squareness of them. They measure approx 27" wide by 10" front to back by 31" full height. This beauty has tons of large beautiful roses in full bloom on it. It is rusty in many places which is common on these old wrought iron items and only adds charm and beauty to the planter. There are three large movable hanging roses on each of the three legs(see photo#9) We have been in business since 1982 and this is"hands down" by far the nicest. And we might add rarest planter, we have seen like this one, possibly a one-of-a-kind. I hope the photos. Which really don't do this planter justice, will give you a better description than my words could. The planter is 33-34 inches tall. Here is a pair of SHABBY antique wooden wheels! These are from the late 1800's to early 1900's. 16 3/4" diameter, and made of wood with rubber outsides. Please look at all of my pics carefully as these are antique& USED with wear! These are salvaged! One has a'through' hairline crack. The outer rubber is very hard, the paint is CHIPPY& PRIMITIVE, there are lots of dings& scuff marks& dust, there is an 1/8" gap in the rubber(on each wheel) where the ends meet, they are a bit wobbly, they have lots of wear, use, chippy paint, etc. These actually still have their metal axel that they attach to. The inner hole for an axel measures approx. 1/2" diameter.
