There are four tiny pinholes are edge of bottom, so this could not hold water. There are two seams on this bucket that run from top to bottom. Top edge is rolled/folded over. There is a round opening on one side near top(about 1/4" around) making me wonder if this was possibly use to hang on a tree and collect sap? The only place that actually has any rust damage. If you look very closely in the last photo you can see about a 2" area along the very bottom rim, but it's not serious. Offered is a vintage/antique primitive metal repurposed planter. This piece came from an old grain elevator in my area that was torn down. Planter part has a nice rusted patina. But still in very usable condition, and back is a heavy duty rubber. To hang, just put a nail through the rubber backing. Metal planter measures 10" in diameter and is 4 3/4" deep, perfect for succulents or other low growing plants. This is a great looking vintage primitive watering can. It rather reminds me of an older oil type can. But I believe it was originally made for plants. It has galvanized aluminum type paint, but if you look closely, you can see remnants of an original tole type floral design. It would look great in the garden, but it will not hold water. It has some heavy rusting near the end of the spout, extending to the edge of the base. Water leaks out of the connection of spout to can. The handle is still well connected, but it is missing one screw or brad. Also some slight indentations in the metal. Size: approx. length of the entire piece. Including the long spout– approx. 14 ½ inches long. Diameter of the base is approx. 6 inches. Height from base to handle is approx. 6 inches. The spout is very long and slender. PRIMITIVE WOOD CARRY-ALL AND LARGE METAL SHOVEL & CHILD'S SHOVEL
This vintage dovetailed tote looks handmade many years ago. But it is still sturdy. It can be used for gardening, small tools, utensils, etc. Measurements are: 7 1/2 wide X 11 3/4" long X 2 1/4" high. Also, two shovels are included in this auction. The large shovel is 12" long X 3 1/2" wide that has previously been painted red(see photo#6) The child's shovel is 8" long X 2 1/4" wide. There is a tiny bit of green or blue paint on the backside. Both shovels are rusty(they call it shabby chic) but are not broken. Please lookover photos carefully before bidding. Questions are always welcome. These items cannot be sold separately. The bucket is in good condition and has been clear coated for protection. Unusual piece that may have been used in an industrial setting or railroad. The rounded bottom was used to prevent a person from emptying the sand or water and using it for a seat. Nice piece of history! Great for a hanging bucket or display.
