I checked and ... moreit is water tight and the handle is also nice and tight. The top is marked with a#8. Holds approx one gallon. There are areas of wear and markings on this can but I think it just adds to it's character. Take a look at the pictures and ask all questions before bidding. It is 12" tall to top of handle and is 7 1/2" in diameter. This watering can comes with two sprinkler heads. Both having the remnants of the original red and green paint. Both heads fit the spout. One sprinkler is about 3 1/2" in diameter and the other is 2 3/4" in diameter. I will mention that when pouring water through the sprinkler heads water does drip through the screw fitting area. It does not affect the way the water comes through the head. I tried to show a picture of how both heads pour. If you look close you will see it is not a perfect shower but not so bad that you drench the flower pot.

Vintage Antique Large Green Tole Paint Metal Garden Flower Water Watering Can
This was discovered in a very old Thousand Islands camp estate and I immediately fell in love! This quaint early watering can is a large 16" tall with the hinged top handle in an upward position. It is 9" in diameter at the base and from the outer side handle to the end of the spout spans 16" The tole can is painted in a earthy green and has a portrayal of cat tails on both sides in wonderful detail. Even the shadows cast by the cat tails and leaves is depicted giving the painting a three dimensional look. Both handles and the top and bottom of the main portion of the can are accented with black pin striping. The top handle is hinged on each side to that it can be raised or laid down on the upper rim. The outer handle has a hollow grip and a thumb rest. The spout has a right angled end. This can has seen many. Many years of ... moreuse and all of it added to it's charm. There is dents, dings, pitting and rust. The rust is most notably on the very bottom(see pic) It will NOT hold water as there is a rather large hole in that bottom. The side and spout appear to be fine. Still, this is such an attractive old piece it would make a lovely ornament in a garden. Use it as a flower pot or set other objects in it for display! Side and top handles in very good condition. The can and handles have great. Original shape. There are very few dents in this can. Most of the paint is intact. I can detect no rust anywhere on the can. The can holds water without leaking. The diffuser is so rare on these older watering cans; this one is really nice. Goes on and comes off easily and fits wells. It will stay on without coming off when the can is pouring out water. There is a small dent in the side of the diffuser and one along the edge of the front- see photos. The watering can measures 25-1/2” long from end to end. 14-1/4” tall including the top handle and 7-3/4” in diameter measured at the base. A Large Green Oval-shaped Metal Water Can with the Original Detachable Diffuser(Spray End) Offered for sale is a lovely green metal watering with the original detachable diffuser. Side and top handles in very good condition. The can and handles have great. Original shape. There are very few dents in this can. Most of the paint is intact. I can detect no rust anywhere on the can. The can holds water without leaking. The diffuser is so rare on these older watering cans; this one is really nice. Goes on and comes off easily and fits wells. It will stay on without coming off when the can is pouring out water. There is a rubber collar on the end of the neck that the diffuser fits onto for a snug, water-tight fit. Look at what is being offered on eBay and the majority of watering cans are missing the diffuser– this one’s got it! Those that have ... moreit are the typical. Compact, American made cans, none of which have the shape of this can or the length of the spout+diffuser. The watering can measures 24-1/2” long from end to end. 13-1/2” tall including the top handle and 8” in diameter measured at the base. The water comes out of the frog's mouth at the top. This water fountain came from a prominent estate during the 1950s, but is believed to be from the 1920s- 1930s. The gardener remembers turning the fountain on when the children would play with their large wind-up pond boats. Most of the original paint has chipped off. No markings found. For sale is an Antique Vintage" DEMING CO. SALEM. OHIO" hand operated water pitcher pump. This all metal pump is about 14" tall. 14" wide, and weighs at least 15 pounds. Once mounted in a rural kitchen to pump the family water. Handle is intact as is the spout. There is rust throughout but no cracks or breaks on this heavy cast metal piece. Some of the operating hardware is still attached but no gaskets of any kind survived. Would make a great decorator item or rehab project. I brushed some of the dirt off but have left this pump mostly as found. Ready for cleaning(or not) and another use. The bowl area does have quite a bit of water staining(a lot will clean up fairly easily) with" THE DEMING CO. SALEM. OHIO" and the number" 2" around the rim. Spout area also has water staining and spots. A great rustic ... morelook. There are two bolts on the base(used for mounting) which are stuck pretty tight. Will leave as is. Old ORIGINAL antique water well bucket with pulley. And chain. Not sure how old it is but would guess it is from at least as far back as the 1940s. Item is very old but is in great shape. No holes, does have a small dent in the side which was typical of them hitting the top of the well.

I was told that this metal stand was originally for a hot water heater or tank or some such aspect of plumbing. Now. This lovely steampunk-esque piece can be repurposed as a beautiful metal plant stand or holder. A friend of mine is a caterer and she would easily use a piece like this to elevate a dish in one of her tablescapes. There are probably a bunch of awesome uses for this item. This auction is for the stand only- the terra cotta saucer is not included. As you can see, it has a great antique patina-there are no cracks or breaks.
