Two Antique Glass Flower Frogs 1 England 1910 1 Large 4"
There are 2 old glass Flower Frogs here. Both are in nice condition. The smaller, taller one is signed on the bottom in raised lettering, MADE IN ENGLAND PATENT 7850/1910 and is 2 1/8" across bottom, and 3" across at top, and sits about 2 1/4" high. It's really a cute one! The larger one is 4" across bottom(4 1/2" or so across top) and has a little bit of a tint to it at certain angles like it was in water heavy with iron maybe. You are bidding on a lot of 5(FIVE) Flower Frogs. 2 are heavy. Unmarked clear glass. 1 has 9 holes(1 large central hole) while the other has 11 holes. 1 is made to look like cast/hammered iron. But I believe it is painted ceramic. It has 11 holes. 1 is a blue glazed ceramic(very heavy) with 8 holes. It is stamped"MADE IN JAPAN" on the underside. 1 is a cast iron& wire affair. It is green. But does have some rust(perhaps a repaint is in order? It has 13 wire loops. The underside is stamped: PATD" and"J.P.O. All will be individually wrapped for shipping. I HAVE NO CLUE WHO MADE ANY OF THESE VINTAGE FLOWER FROGS. THE LARGEST IS CLEAR GLASS AND IS 5" IN DIAMETER WITH 15 HOLES. THE OTHER CLEAR IS ABOUT 3 3/8" IN DIAMETER AND HAS 11 HOLES. THE BROWN GLAZED POTTERY ONE IS 2 3/4" IN DIAMETER AND HAS 8 HOLES. THE LAST IS MADE OF METAL PAINTED A COPPER COLOR AND HAS METAL PRONGS TO HOLD THE FLOWERS. ALL ARE IN EXCELLENT CONDITION. THERE ARE A FEW HOLES OF THE CLEAR GLASS THAT ARE SLIGHTLY ROUGH AT THE BOTTOM OF THE HOLES BUT I BELIEVE THIS IS FROM PRODUCTION AND NOT FROM DAMAGE. THE BROWN POTTERY ONE HAS A COUPLE VERY TEENY AND MINOR GLAZE FLAKES THAT MAY OR MAY NOT BE FROM PRODUCTION.
