And was part of a large lot of antique and vintage pottery and porcelain which I'll be listing over the next few weeks. This beautiful young lady stands about 12 1/2" inches tall. Is dressed in winter clothes and has her pocket puppy wrapped in a warm cuff. I've seen this figural before(I've been collecting, hunting, trading and buying for over 30 years) and I can assure you that this is European production, German or Dutch origin, late 19th century to early 20th century and handpainted. I have not been able to find any metalsmith or artist signature. Perhaps it was signed on the hands. There are no cracks. Dents or major dings. The patina is a little darker in some areas. Could use a cleaning or polishing if desired. I only dusted it. The hands could have been made from faux ivory or bone and are missing. For your consideration is a vintage art nouveau spelter figural statue with the most impressive size nearly 3 feet tall. This would make a fine statement for any room. The lovely maiden dressed in a flowing gown is just stunning. She would work perfect as a newel post or as an entrance piece on a pedistal. She is double signed on base as shown- Ranieri. These statues were blanks that were then electrified which one can easily wire up to her hand and use as a torch lamp. The statue shows wear typical of age and use to the patina easily touched up. But as you can see displays beautifully with its aged character. These are so hard to come by in such a rare size. One could very easily convert her into a torch lamp if you chose. This is a Decorative ethnographic multi-figural wood carving in an"International Primative" style. Possibly made in Indonesia. This is a very interesting item. There are two people in and embrace and then a thrid head above them. From the age of the wood and the way it is carved this is a very old piece. I am not sure the exact age or origin but my opion is that it is orginal and old. This is one of my favorite sculpture that is in my collection but now it is time to down size. This auction is for a beautiful African Sculture and in amazing shape. It came from a private estate. It has some age to it although I am not sure how old. It is made out of wood and beautiful. I went over it carefully and did not see any chips or cracks anywhere. It truly is a wonderful piece and has been well cared for. It stands about 11-1/4" tall. It is about 3-1/4" wide by 2-1/4" wide. VINTAGE SEMI-NUDE LADY FIGURAL SPELTER BRONZE BRASS STATUE LAMP, 42" TALL
Lamp measures 42" high. Base is 6" wide, lady is 12" tall. Has four porcelain candlestick style arms(which currently do not tighten properly and lean inward. This looks like a banquet lamp. There is also at top a place for a light bulb but the round globe is missing from it. I believe the body of the lady is spelter with possibly a bronze overlay on the robe and it is painted as well as the base. Very large unusual lamp and definitely a conversation piece.
