ANTIQUE NEOCLASSICAL ENGLISH IRON GARDEN URN This beautiful neoclassical shape urn is a genuine antique. Circa early 1800s but could be late 1700s. Many layers of paint were stripped and the urn was polished with a wire brush. It’s thick and heavy cast iron with fine details and it is still in perfect condition. No chips, no cracks. However, from over 200 years of use since the metal inside was pretty much rusted it shows deep cavities, which will not be noticeable ... morewhen the urn is filled with dirt. It is a planting urn because it has a drain, therefore your plants will not drown and can feel comfortable in this urn for many years. This urn comes apart into two parts. Up for Auction is an Antique Lead Cherub Garden Fountain I believe this fountain is English. And form the 1880's- 1900. I've seen this on the web, and most say that they were made in England. In the late 1800's. It looks as though the Cherub is holding a flower atop his head. Which is where the water spews out into the flower, and spills over in front of the Cherub. I think the fountain should be in the center of a water feature. As a main attraction. The fountain is in overall very good condition. I think it will need to be re-plumbed. Available is a pair of vintage antique lead garden statues. They are absolutely charming depictions of children. One with birds. These are OLD, and NOT reproduction. They were purchased many years ago at an estate sale. I don't know the year they were made or where. We were once told they may be English. I find no Hallmarks. We were told they are lead. They are heavy. The surface is weathered as they have been used outside for many years. These have a wonderful patina that only comes with age. The measure about 28 inches tall, about 8 to 9 inches wide, and the base is about 8 inches by about 6 1/2 inches by about 1 1/2 inches to 2 inches thick. It features two children frolicking while picking flowers. The girl in the front is holding a basket. It has a lovely old patina and a little dirt that has absorbed into the cement after many. It has great patina and surpasses the more modern reproductions seen today. There has been a repair to the handle and one of the thin slats on the bottom has split due to age. This trug lmeasures 18 by 10 by 6 inches. A Sussex trug is a wooden basket mainly used for gardening. It is made from a handle and rim of coppiced sweet chestnut wood which is hand-cleft then shaved using a drawknife. The body of the trug is made of five or seven thin boards of cricket bat willow.
