That was used for floral arragements, especially at weddings, huge formal parties and funerals. The vase or pot sits down in the frame. These are wonderful to use for houseplants in a sun room: you can train ivy and the like up and around the handle. This is really a tall handle and quite sturdy! The green paint is peeling, but you can paint to any color you want. 31 in. tall, basket space at bottom that holds the vase or pot is 7 in, across the top and 7 in. tall. The square wood base is about 10 in. by 10 in. The top bar across the handle is 25 in. MD buyer pays 6% sales tax. Please pay by PAYPAL. antique vintage planter waste basket bucket wood wooden Stickley Bros umbrella
This auction is for an old wooden holder. This could be used as a waste basket. Umbrella holder, or even a planter. It is made of wood. I would guess it to be around 100 years old. It has a nice worn look on the outside but still has a nice look to it. The inside has what appears to be the original paint. It stands on four legs. Structurally it is sound. It is really well made and really sturdy. Also the bottom of the feet have a metal insert in the middle for it to sit on. The bottom may be the only thing not original that may have been replaced at some time, it look like a composite of some kind where the rest is solid wood. Also not sure how it is put together however I see no nails but it is sturdy more so than glue points would have been, real tight joints maybe mortised. It looks like it was painted green once and is now painted yellow. There are places where a bit of rust is showing through the paint, but the iron is in good condition. I think that bit of rust showing through gives it just that right garden ambiance. Not certain on exact age of this piece, it was purchased at an estate sale. Fabulous old planter to add to your indoor or outdoor decor! It stands 21 1/2" tall and is 13 1/2" in diameter at its widest point.
