The wonderful multi colored hand painted berries and leaves are still full and bright. It is in good condition for its age and absolutely beautiful! I did not use flash taking these photos except for the last photo below. I would say the last photo shows the true colors and patina more than the other photos. This is a charming little antique"posy basket flower holder! It is cast iron and painted a bright. Daffodil yellow. Please look all of my pictures carefully to see detail and condition! Basket measures 10 1/2" tall X 3 1/2" wide X 1 3/4" deep so it is rather narrow; handle is exaggeratedly tall. It is also an odd design in that it has 3"feet" at the bottom. Outside shows some paint wear and inside is RUSTY. I can't find any maker's marks on this piece so I don't know where it was made or by whom though I do think it is old. This is a genuine antique farmers wire metal bushel basket on a stand. I'm guessing it was for picking some sort of fruit from trees so the picker could stand and reach and not have to crouch. Up for auction is a Beautiful Antique VICTORIAN WROUGHT IRON and WICKER PLANT STAND with Removable Upper basket and lower shelf. fresh from a large local Estate overlooking the Niagara River. It is approx. 37.75" Tall x 27" Wide x 12.5" Deep including Top Basket. Base alone is 28.75" Tall x 25" Wide x 11.5" Deep. to top of Basket. 25" High to bottom of basket. All the iron is in excellent used condition. It has been outside and has some rust spots but is very solid. Heavy and sturdy.perfect to spray paint any color you wish or use as is.white The lower shelf is wicker/cane attached to an iron base which is removable but is presently attached with a light wire to keep it in place. It has a removable basket as well as a removable tray which rests on the top shelf between the basket and base. The basket is ... morealso iron. Covered in wicker, part is missing but still very usable, would suggest a couple coats of spray paint to reinforce strength. The shelf which rests between the upper shelf and the basket also has a wicker/rattan piece that was attached at one point. It will be included if you feel like attempting to reattach it.
