Hi this'buy it now auction' is for 1 Antique Granite trough. This stone trough measures close to 40"s long by approximately 18" wide. 11" high and has roughly an 6.5"+-inside depth. The trough is in very nice condition and has a drain hole in the bottom side, there was another drain hole in the bottom middle but has been plugged as seen in the pictures. We occasionally find more these but they are becoming quite scarce. Originally used on farms for feeding animals. Three pieces with detailed edging along curved feet. Edging of bench are somewhat"weathered" adding to the beauty and historic precedence it captures. An original piece of history from our home that we wish we had an ideal spot to keep. So sad to see it propped up in our garage unused. We have a stone arch. Corbels, carriage stepping stones, and hitching post. Included in this deal are two large pieces of thick marble. See another example of a pair for comparison on 1stdibs. The base is 6 1/2 x 12 in. The depth from the back L. leg to the front main which protrudes is about 7 1/2 in. The total width is close to 15 in. w/ Height 20 in. as per my listing. The antique garden boutique I purchased this from were hi end specialists in this area and while stylistically different from the 1stdbs pair I reference. Are probably not too disimilar in dating. The lions carry a majestic presence and there are some textural differences in the stone and also such details as the slight hint of the lions rib cage etc. as per the photo. Antique Composite Stone Statuary Head of an Angelic Looking Child
For sale here is a gorgeously molded fragment depicting the head of a wistful looking child. The facial expression on it is hauntingly genuine and beautiful. The child has a knot of hair wound tightly above its forehead and lush. Lengthy curls cascade around and behind its ears. There is an iron rod protruding from the base of the neck which could be used for mounting it to a base. This is a solid object and quite weighty. The top of the middle plinth is marked with an"E" I was told this is unusual and is carved red stone and is 19th century or earlier. Pictures show white spots on the planter which is simply dried moss in the flash. Urn was purchased from a fine Rhode Island estate last year and is currently in my storage. Dimensions below. overall height. 41 inch tall- top surface diameter. 31 inch wide- diameter lion nose to lion nose. 39 inch- round base/ ground plinth. 5 inch thick- middle plinth 15 inch tall- upper carved bowl 21 inch tall- estimated weight(600-900 pounds) 3 pieces together. this is a guess An exceptional urn for your estate.
