ANTIQUE VICTORIAN 24" WIDE WROUGHT IRON GARDEN GATE & GOTHIC CAST IRON POST
Antique hinged garden fence with single post attached. overall width is 35" The post has a total height of 45" two 7 1/2" long spikes that would be stuck into the ground or cement and a 37 1/2" tall post with Victorian Gothic styling. The gate is 24" wide and 33" tall from end to end of the center. The hinge between gate and post is 3" wide and allows the gate to swing both ways. There is a stabilizing bar that helped to keep the post upright but the end is broken off and many years ago. Someone put an ornate Eastlake doorknob on the top of the gate handle. One of the cast rosettes on the upright iron post is partially missing. There is a coat of rust over a pitted iron surface but gate and post are well-made, solid and still functional. Description This is a great piece that was salvaged from a Philadelphia Victorian home. It has an arched top with hoops. There are great cast iron embellishments on the uprights and inside the hoops. The crossbars have large cast iron flower where they intersect. There is surface rust overall. It measures 43 inches long and is 42 inches tall. Overall it is in good condition. There are misc. scratches and dings as it is antique. It could use a good cleaning. There are a couple of light bends. The keeper is damaged. One embellishment is missing. There are three"hairpins" or hoops between the side bars. There is a horizontal a curved support bar below the hoops and a horizontal straight bar at the bottom of the gate. There are two support bars in the shape of an"X" with a metal flower medallion in the center. There are two brackets on one side complete with a thick and heavy gate post. Please see all important shipping information prior to bidding! Up for sale is an Old Antique Vintage Architectural Garden Gate Fence with Posts. This came from a very old local estate; I'm sure it's over 100 years old. I was told that it was made by the old Tredegar Iron Works in Richmond. VA. It's a very heavy, wonderfully ornate decorative fence. It was encased in concrete at the house when I obtained it. There are J hook rods through the bottom of the posts. You could probably re-use them if needed, or just cut them off if you are using this for décor; as they are not needed for display purposes. This item is just the panel part of the fence. With 2 posts. There is NO door or gate function; this doesn't function as an actual entrance gate or security fence. As you can see from the photos, all 3 parts are separate ... morepieces and would need to be reassembled/put back together to make 1 full piece again. The posts are sort of loose and would need to be put back together. The finials are a pretty fleur-de-lis style. This fence would be used for décor or accent purposes. Cosmetically. The iron has an old, vintage, weathered patina. It doesn't get more perfect than this! It measures 4 feet tall and is 5 feet long. HUGE antique vintage 9 foot cast iron white gate topper architectural salvage !!
Amazing old gate! Hi, I am selling the most amazing decorative cast iron gate topper! At least I think that's what it is. Not too sure: The patina is to die for. Just enough rust and paint loss to be perfect! It has 3 1 5/8" legs at the bottom. I think is where it sat on top of the gate. It has a small easel back behind. Can prop at an angle. It is gigantic measuring 9' 1" wide. 25" tall to the top of the finial, not including the legs at the bottom and is approximately 4" deep. I am guessing it to be 80-90 lbs. I believe it is cast iron. Unknown age. Looks quite old to me. It has incredible detail. So intricate, it is stunning! I think this would make an amazing plant border. But there are so many things you could do! How about above your bed or fireplace? Check the pics carefully. You'll see on the left side ... moreat the bottom the base sticks out a bit further than the scrolly detail above. But on the right side, the scrolly part sticks out further than the base. I think this is where 2 of these would have met. This must have been one whopper of a gate! Check out the 2nd to last pic. Antique Chippy Wrought Iron White Garden Gate/Trellis 3 Sided w/ hinges Tulips
This Magnificent Iron Three-sided Trellis with heavy detail is a must-have for your garden. The solid iron detail in the iron trellis is exceptional. There are stake feet at the bottom. But still can stand on a solid surface. See pics) There are hinges in which both side pieces move back, therefore the spread of the trellis can be increased or decreased to a desired with. The paint shows some rust and discoloration, but either a sandblasting or paint removal could bring this to pristine condition. I prefer it as is. I do not have an exact age on this piece but I believe it would be from the early 1900s. This iron trellis is 63 inches tall. The centerpiece is 21" wide EACH side is 15.5" wide. This trellis then has a total width 52" It us.5" wide. This is a rare find and truly gorgeous!

Antique Victorian 19th Cent. CAST IRON GATE & 5 ORNATE FENCE POSTS ++
BEFORE BIDDING please read our terms and pick up location in Northwest New Jersey toward the end of our description. DESCRIPTION: This lot was all found in a barn. There were no more pieces or fencing. 5-19th Century Fence Posts with Gate and an addition ornate piece from the fenceing. Possibly even well back into the 1800's. Even Civil War period.The fence post are gorgeous, the least one weighs is 78 lbs. they are heavy. The gate a bit on the plain side but early. It appears the posts were connected by pipes and the pipes went through the ornate pieces. But only one great ornate piece left. Now it appears it will take a little imagination and ingenuity to put these posts and gate to good use. Possibly even plugging holes in the posts and attaching to other fenceing. The posts are approx. 47 1/2" tall. The gate is approx. 51" ... moretall and 37 1/7" wide not counting latches. The gate has a slideing latch that looks like it went into a flat bar attached to one post. But the wired that and added that hand wrought large flip latch on the other side so I'm not sure what they did there. The posts have just a few small chips that are not a distraction. One post has a series of small holes near the top, not a big issue,these are thick heavy and strong. Rust is not bad at all, they were stored dry. The top of the gate is bent some and you will see one piece of curled flat iron broken off. If that bothers you it's as easy as it gets to weld a piece on before painting. Last I will mention the flat bar that the latch goes into does need a spot weld. As you can see, top finials must be tightened down. Exactly as found. For pick up, your dealing with between 500& 600 lbs. of iron. Some photos are a bit dark in the shade but please enlarge all 12 photos and you should have a pretty good look. Antique Wrought Iron Architectural Garden Gate 36" Blacksmith Made Folk Art Old
Gate measures 35.5" wide and the hinge dogs add another 2" The height is about 33.25" The gate was hand made and the flat embellishments at the top were hammered out on an anvil. Perfectly solid with no loose parts. It appears there was a chain welded to the latch side at some point in its long life and one partial link remains. This can be easily ground off and cleaned up and I will gladly do that for the winner if so desired. The gate weighs 35 pounds before packing and I'm not afraid to ship it if you're not afraid to pay the actual UPS shipping.

This post was part of an iron fence built after the house was constructed in 1896. Not sure of the exact date. But likely soon after the house was finished. US made by The Ludlow Saylor Wire Co. out of St. Louis, MO. This piece is in excellent condition and great quality. Measures 46 inches high plus a 2 1/2 inch mounting piece under the base. Antique Wrought Iron Garden Gate~Porcelain Knob~Arched Top~Very Unique~Heavy
Up for your consideration today is an antique cast iron garden gate with arched top. I took the pic with the gate laying on it's side because it was too heavy for me to stand up. It still has the porcelain knob and what looks to be a locking mechanism at one time. It is rusty and dilapidated in spots but still functional. It looks like someone tried to save it by attaching it to cast iron pipes on either side of the gate. Still functioning gate but in order to use it this way. You will have to bury the bottom ends of the poles or either attach to fence posts. Great style with arched top. Measures 85" from arch to bottom of gate- 36" wide. The poles measure 10'2" overall from top to bottom. I was told by the previous owner this was the gate used for entering the garden going to the slave quarters so I'm assuming ... morethis is true and the gate probably dates to around the 1850's or sooner. Please not the bottom set of arrows are sandwiched between a double bar and this one of the reasons this gate has withstood the test of time because of its beefy construction. It measures aprox 43 1/2" wide and 36" tall and 38" to top of center arrow. Magnificent Iron Three-sided Trellis with Wonderful detail is a must-have for your garden. The solid iron piece must weigh at least 200 pounds. The detail in the iron trellis is exceptional. There are square feet at the bottom. Which make this piece sturdy on a solid surface. There are hinges in which both side pieces move in or out. Therefore the spread of the trellis can be increased or decreased to a desired with. The paint shows some discoloration. But either a sandblasting or paint removal could bring this to pristine condition. I do not have an exact age on this piece but I believe it would be from the late 1800s or early 1900s.
