This is an absolutely darling little sprinkler! It is in the shape of a squirrel sitting on a chunk of wood. The squirrel is looking ahead. Holding on to the chunk of wood with 3 paws and one paw is up by his body. His big tail is behind his body,The hose attaches at the side of the squirrel and the water comes out of the top of the big tail. I believe the piece was made in the 40s or 50s, maybe even in the 1930s! It has a copyright Rainbird carved just next to the place where the hose screws in to it. As you can see from the photos. This piece is in amazing shape and is fully functional. It can put out a small amount of water to a great deal of water depending on your needs. They are very well detailed with wavy hair, detailed face, and swirled, leafy base. I am unsure what these were originally attached to but they are hollow to some extent to be attached to something, possibly the end of the arm of a chair or on top of an ornate architectural piece or mirror, possibly a church piece. They both have holes at the back base for securing them, one has another hole near the right ear in the back which I am uncertain if this was man made.
