But has many upgrades. This stove has a large commercial size natural gas burner in the firebox, which likely could be rejetted for propane allowing you to use multiple fuel sources(Wood, coal, gas) It also has a built in cast iron water heater heat exchanger in there. It has a brite"US" nameplate which appears to be solid brass and silver accenting on the casting names and rivet heads. The top is 52W X 36D X 33H. It's real cast iron- it weighs in the neighborhood of 400 lbs. The Vulcan-Hart company. With history back to 1865, still makes high quality $$$ commercial stoves today and the quality and lineage of this unit shows. Built in 1951 according to the nameplate on the side. It came with a 1947 house I purchased last year. According to the 87 year old previous owner, the unit was bought new and placed in the corner of the living room by his aunt during a 1952 renovation and hasn't moved since. He only used it for extra heating in that large room and never recalled actually burning wood in the unit, and I found only evidence of natural gas use. It comes with the stock"tools" poker, scraper etc. The unused heavy-ass firebox grating for burning solids is in the last photo. It was sitting in the bottom of the ash drawer. It is a bit dusty in the photos and it does have a light patina of rust color on the inside but I know most of that is due to the natural gas combustion residue. And there is no ash inside and very little soot in the flue. I decided to leave it all original and not try to restore it as that might change its value and it does in fact need very little cleaning and perhaps some paint inside to make it look like new again. I found no cracks, scratches, or damage of any kind when I inspected it, and I do feel confident in its excellent condition, but I am selling it as-is, no warranties. It will come with the carbura

VINTAGE AUSTRALIAN MULGA WOOD NAPKIN HOLDERS
Mulga wood(Acacia aneura) has been used extensively for Australian souvenir and gift ware throughout the middle of the 20th century. Its popularity began between the first and second world wars and continued through to the 1960s and 70s. The standard trade name(Mulga) is an Aboriginal word for a long narrow shield made from Acacia wood. Mulga is of great economic importance to Australia. Especially the pastoral industry. Mulga leaves are a valuable fodder source, particularly in times of drought, as it is palatable to stock and provides up to 12% crude protein. Wood from Acacia aneura stands up very well to being buried in soil, so is used for posts. It is also good as firewood, and good-quality charcoal can be produced from it. It also polishes up exceedingly well and as a result made a great medium for Australian souvenirs and gifts. Mulga ... morewas a vital tree to indigenous Australians in Central Australia; the wood was a good hardwood for making various implements. Such as digging sticks and woomeras. The seeds of Acacia aneura were once used to make seedcakes. The"mulga apple" a knob on the tree caused by insects) was commonly eaten by aboriginal people. Mulga tree gum is found on mulga branches and it provided a tasty, honey-like treat for indigneous people. Up for sale are three(3) different 1950's Mulga Wood Napkin holders.
