Caparison Horus Scarab/Gold
I have a Caparison Horus in Scarab/Gold. It is from what I believe to be 2007. To start off this guitar plays great. The frets have hardly any wear. There are some small nicks/scratches in the clear coat& belt rash on the back of the guitar. There are also some nicks on the back heal of the guitar seen in the last photo. The end of the head stock was chipped and glued back into place as seen in picture 7.The guitar overall looks great.The pickups have been replaced with a Seymour Duncan Alternative 8 in the bridge which lives up to the great characteristics of ceramic and alnico magnets. It has a smooth top end with a tight bottom end. The neck is what I believe to be a Seymour Duncan Hotrod. Some other guitar specs are a 24.75 inch scale. 27 frets, mahogany body, maple neck, rosewood fingerboard. The guitar has also been upgraded with ... morea brass block to give it a fuller sound. The guitar includes a hard case, and the backplate(which is not in the photos) I will ship internationally. But buy will have to pay a higher premium depending on location along with custom fees. I am not a button collector or button dealer so I just did my best to describe and photograph these. This is a lot of 3 Egyptian revival buttons c1920s. The scarab/bug button is black glass. The top is matte not glossy and it has traces of gold paint. There is also some green residue( I don't know if the green is dirt or something else) The other two buttons in the lot are metal. Looks like maybe a silver plating over a brass or other metal. These two buttons have the same ima ge of an Eg ypti an lady or queen. The large button is about 1.5 inches across and the other one like it is about 7/8 inch. The glass button is about 5/8 inch across. Good used vintage condition; some age/use ware and m ight need a l ittle cleaning/polishing. Made of limestone? and dating to the New Kingdom, ca. 1300 BCE. The scarab is diminutive, measuring 16.8 mm x 9.5 mm(2/3 x 3/8 of an inch) in size, rounded to the nearest.1mm. The cartouche is clearly visible, as documented in the photos below. This scarab is estate fresh, and has never been offered for sale before now. PROVENANCE This comes to us from the estate of Mr. Robert Mahon. Mr. Mahon was an army officer and a veteran of WWII who went to work for the State Department at the end of WWII. Beginning in 1948. His postings for the rest of his career were all to be in the Mideast, and his duty stations and travels took him everywhere from Cairo to Damascus. Amongst his collection were copies of his field notes of various digs, directions to sites, and photographs. To the Egyptian this thought provoking achievement reminded them of the sun's rise across the sky every morning marking the beginning a new day(of life) The ancient Egyptian learned to make amulets of the scarab beetle from stone or faience to be worn for protection and good luck. Vintage/Antique Franklin Treadle Sewing Machine in Orig Cabinet w/ Scarab Design
This is an approximately 1920's Franklin treadle sewing machine in original cabinet. It has beautiful motifs on it called the"Scarab" design by collectors.They are truly amazing to look at. Some of the details are coming off in places. Mostly along an edge. There is fantastic scroll work etched onto one end of the machine that is different from the decal-type work. On the back of the machine(not sure why) is the Franklin disc which is also cool looking. As far as I can tell, everything is there including an intact belt. This is a fully working machine, but would be great as a display piece also. I would keep it if I had the room. There are no accessories. The cabinet is rough along the bottom edges and the door drags slightly on the rug. Not sure if it would be OK on a regular floor. The top has had most of the finish worn off ... moreit. There are no broken pieces on the added woodwork trim, it is all still quite attractive. There are no drawers but the door has a shelf for supplies. This machine was manufactured by the Domestic Sewing Machine company started in 1864.This company became the supplier for Sears in the mid 1910's and introduced the Franklin line in the late 1910's. In 1924 they were purchased by the White Sewing Machine Company and became a subsidiary of White and continued making their machines from their own line. This division disappeared during the Great Depression in the 1930's. From the Encyclopedia of Antique Sewing Machines, 3rd Edition) This is for local pickup only. Sorry, forgot to add that the cabinet is 30 inches x 22 inches x 17 inches. It opens to about 44 inches.

Footed hand-painted PORCELAIN DRESSER BOX by EISENBERG w/GOLD SCARAB on top
This lovely little box was made by the Eisenberg company of Thuringia. Germany. It is Kalk porcelain and is hand-painted. It has a gold scarab on the top with other decorative images in gold. It is about 2 inches tall and is about 3 inches in diameter. The marks on the bottom indicate it is Eisenberg and it is#144. The company began in 1882, but merged with another company in 1900 and the mark on the bottom, from what I am able to find, indicates this piece was made sometime after 1900. There are no cracks, chips, etc. This is quite a nice little box!
