For bid is an antique copper planter that was used in a plant stand. It could also be used alone if desired. The planter measures approx. 11 inches across the top and approx. 5 inches in height. GREAT darkened aged patina. The planter is in very nice condition. Only very minor denting and some water residue marks inside. This was an estate find and I have 2 more just like this one, same size/condition. This auction is for one, but I would be happy to sell the others to the winning bidding if desired. Claw-footed copper jardiniere/planter made in Germany and/or surrounding geographical area. Measurements: 15.5"Diameter x 9.25"High. The markings read: Gesetzlich Geschutzt with a figure holding a hammer in right hand and Munchen under him with the letter'T' to the left and the number'8' to the right. There appears to be an'SS' in script on left and an'S' in script on right. I am unaware of the name of the copper foundry where it was made. The designs in the flowers appear to represent a symbol in addition to the three claw feet that grasp spheres. This is a unique piece to the era.
