A Beautiful Antique wall clock shelf. Made of walnut wood, with intricate bronze cornered fencing, wooden finials, and 3 brass wall supports C.1890's. Measuring at 25" long X 8 1/4" deep. Up for bid is the vintage/antique HANDMADE by Blacksmith in Germany/Solingen and exported to the U.S. Where J.H. Lau& Co. of New York City distributed through their sporting goods retail store, circa the late 19th to early 20th century. Outstandingly clean, excellent used condition with fantastic maker's& distributer's markings& symbols(see pics) Very deep, crisp& clear incisions with perfect contrast. Grip is slightly worn but I would guess that approx. 50% of the original lacquer/enamel finish remains and 95% or more of the wrapped rope is present and holding tight around the solid wood core(wood species unknown) Hilt end is cast steel/iron, nail tightly(zero wobble/play, extremely secure) and with a great little tilt to it. Infinity symbol/ Number 8' shaped guard is a bit wobbley. Not sure if it is supposed ... moreto be this way(to provide some'give' or if it has come loose over the years. Either way, it is more or less a'non-issue' just thought noteworthy. Blade is quite straight but does have a few small waves and a number of tiny dings& dents. Antique. Pair of French Foils, in Good Condition. Foils are from the turn of the 19th/ 20th century. Brass hollow figure eight guards backed with buff pads. Grips are rectangular; wound cord over wood with brass end caps. Cord is a little loose on one of the grips. The brass pommels are conical in shape and are peened on. The blades are stamped#5 and are 34 and ¾ inches in length. They are also stamped; France” LB” on one side and“PR” on the other side of each blade. Rare matched pair in good condition, good find for collectors.

Here's an Antique Pair of French Fencing Foils. Offered at NO RESERVE! They have lots of markings, many of which are only partially readable; they do say"Klingenthal" enough to make it out on both(picture 8) The guards are ornately decorated and the wire wrapped handles also have a decorated end piece. One is in better condition than the other. The one in lesser condition has bending to the guard(picture 5) and the wire is loose/missing(picture 6) It also has more tarnish to the guard/handle, but both exhibit that to varying degrees, as well as light surface rust(picture 9) The blades are slightly bent and the ends may have been reduced/nicked. With a four-diamond pattern on the sides. Also inscribed on the blade is"Made in Germany" and two" marks. The carved wood handle of the blade is wrapped in its original black leather grip, which is slightly worn and missing a small piece near the bottom. This is a wonderful European fencing mask. Era 1900s early. Good condition def used and would make great addition to anyone's collection or display item. No markings that I can see. Size 12" x 12" Width approx 7 1/2" I have had this for 20 yrs and everyone loves it. ENJOY!
