Country Pine 1840 Antique Corner Cabinet. A tall country pine corner cabinet has a classic flat crown. It was hand crafted about 1840, and said to be from Pennsylvania. The finish is very well preserved with warm antique patina and lots of mars. Stains and wear for character. Waxed and buffed, it needs only an occasional wipe with a soft dry cloth to maintain its luster. Inside shelves have grooves to display plates behind glass panes in the door. The back is hand hewn and the top is attached with hand cut dovetail joints. Hand cut square nails are visible on this American made furniture. Antique vintage primitive pine sewing cabinet, hand made, 23 drawers, apothecary
Up for auction to U.S. customers only is a great old pine cabinet. Originally designed as a sewing case but is very useful for storing all kinds of household, craft or other items. Also a great piece to decorate your house. It stands 25 inches tall, 31 inches wide and 12 inches deep. There are 23 drawers of various sizes, a door that looks like a series of drawer fronts which opens to reveal the dowels for sewing spool storage, and a lid that opens on the top to reveal even more storage. Because of that top rear storage, the drawers in front vary in depth- the ones on the top half are 5 inches deep; the ones on the bottom are 12 inches deep. This was very well made by someone with carpentry skills; the original hand drawings, notes and dimensions used to construct the piece are done on the back of old New Haven(CT? production reports. Everything ... moreis intact with all the original knobs, but there are a few wood chips, a crack on the left side and a faded water stain on the top, which you'd expect from a piece this age. All in all this is a practical cabinet which would also be a terrific conversation piece and decoration. It is light enough to sit on top of a table or sturdy shelf or sit on the floor. But here's the additional scoop: This pine speaker cab has been gigging with me for the past year or so. I originally had a Jensen in it. But then I decided to get something. special. I know the wood looks all smooth and perfect, but it's not. It's been banged around, so the wood shows some dings and dents. Still, it's all nice and glossy! The pine was treated with Tung Oil, not* lacquered. So if you want, you can hit the whole thing with fine steel wool, dust it off, and treat it with more tung oil if you want. It'll stay glossy and happy for many many years to come if you keep it up. Pine construction has its plusses and minuses. Plus: Lightweight& ... moreexcellent sound resonance. Minus: easily banged up. But solid pine really is the way to go. You'll note: No grab handle on the top. Instead. This baby has handholds on both sides. Easier for getting it in and out of vehicles. No handle on top also means that this speaker cab makes a nice bench seat when needed. And, you never have to worry about a handle getting in the way of whatever amp head you want to use. Up for sale in a lovely primitive pine corner cabinet with double doors and a tin lined back and interior in good condition. This cabinet measures 65 1/4" tall. 29 1/4" wide and 14 1/2" deep. The corner sides from the front to the middle measure 20 1/4" each. The inside of both of the doors are engraved as shown in the pictures and read Long Bell, Kansas City and Kellogg Lumber. There are three shelves on the top of this cabinet and two on the bottom. Each shelf has a wooden base and the distance between the shelves on top is appr. 11" I would put a date on this cabinet around the 1920's but I am not 100% sure. Ma. The corner cabinet remained as part of Dodd Hall until the Dodd house was purchased in 1911 by L.G. Treadway, a graduate of Dartmouth College whom owned 55 New England based inns. L.G. Treadway converted the Dodd House into the Williams Inn and the corner cabinet remained with Williams Inn until 1974 when Williams Inn was turned into the first womens dormitory for Williams College. L.G. Treadway sold many of the antique contents of the Williams College collection at Dodd Hall to Dr. Richard Ellison, the collection remained together in the estate until purchased by us. This is a 2x12 low powered twin size solid 3/4" pine cabinet with a chassis cutout for a 5e3 Deluxe chassis. I bought it unfinished, and also had an extra 1x12 baffle made so it can take either one or two speakers, I stained it ebony and finished it myself, I am not a professional but I think it came out nicely, I posted a picture of it fully assembled with the grillcloth and chassis, it DOES NOT come with grillcloth or handle or amp chassis, but this gives you an idea of what it could look like- put whatever grillcloth you want on it. You can sand it down and refinish it if you like, or cover it with tweed or tolex- it's up to you. I have photographed it as best I can, I am just going to call it free shipping in the lower 48 states because it's heavy, I will ship with USPS. The dimensions are: 20-1/2" tall x 24-1/2" ... morewide x 10-1/4" deep, chassis cutout is about 12-1/4" wide by 2-7/8" deep. For your consideration is an antique country pine armoire that can function as a TV cabinet. Wardrobe or general storage. As functional as it is beautiful. It is very deep and holds A LOT. Also has a big bottom drawer for more storage. I purchased it in 2001 at an antiques store on Robertson Blvd(since closed or relocated) for more than $3,000. The seller identified it as made in the 1800’s. I believe it was refurbished with some reclaimed doors and new hinges(lock does not work) I included a photo of the top of the piece to show the dovetail joints(top is dusty) This is a beautiful piece that I purchased for much much more than I’m asking. Nice real antique pine is becoming harder to find these days. The finish would look even richer if a coat of Briwax were applied(anyone can do this) In fact, experts suggest regular waxing. These photo's ... moredo not do this justice; I'll try and upload better ones. An additional note: The Blue House on Montana Avenue in Santa Monica closed yesterday, June 28, after 37 years in business. They had a very similar armoire selling for $11,500 less the sale discount(40% I think) A couple minor fixes need to be made. 1) The hinge on one of the doors needs to be reset slightly as the door is very slightly off, meaning not exactly horizontal when closed(difference is so slight, one would probably not notice on sight, only when actually closing the door) I could do this myself in minutes(but I’m lazy) 2) There are a few scratches in the wood that need to be waxed– they are shown up close in the photos. 3) The lock does not work. American Pine Jelly Cupboard. Pennsylvania Probably Lehigh Valley or Lancaster County. C. 1820-40 Item# 130102WPP16 This is a simply gorgeous Early American Pennsylvania Pine Jelly Cupboard crafted during the second quarter of the 19th Century. While a good quantity cabinets and cupboards of the period survive. This piece is characterized by the best of Pennsylvania craftsmanship. Featuring a single solid board of pine on the top, dovetailed along the edges with exposed joints to the sides of the case, the molding around the top is of unusually good quality. Tightly carved and pinned to the case at equal intervals, it projects over the overall square form embellished with multiple layers of molding and tight incised scratched-beading. The triple-paneled door is a work of art. Each panel deeply chamfered on the interior and set into rabbet ... morecuts in the frame. The entire frame of the door features pegged through-tenon-mortise construction, allowing the wood to easily expand and contract while maintaining control over the structure; the door swings freely on original forged iron hinges. The lock is absent and a later bracket was installed on the door to assist in keeping the cabinet closed, the round wooden knob above the keyhole likely also an addition. The sides of the case are solid planks of pine from top to bottom. The outermost backboards finished on the edges to become part of the case sides, also continuing down into full rear feet. The backboards run vertical to the case, each being tacked with neat even rows of large square forged iron nails. The interior of the case is a somewhat graduated shelved space, the full length solid planks creating outstanding depth to the cupboard. This form of cupboard is incredibly utilitarian in any home of matching decor. Easily utilized in any room: a display cabinet in the living room, a very easily accessibly chest of drawers in the bedroom, a linens and towel cabinet in the guest bedroom or dressing room and as a cupboard for the fine china in the dining room.
