We found one pair of windows that were stripped at some point and finished with a clear coat of lacquer(see 2nd to last photo) We've included a photo to give you an idea of how these windows look under the paint. The lites are secured with old-fashioned glazier's putty on the exterior(green) side. The putty on the majority of the windows is in great shape. And will not need replacement for many years. However, if a lite were to break once you install the windows; you would need to completely scrape off the old putty, which could be as hard as cement, remove the glazing points, put in the replacement lite, reinsert the points, add new putty, and allow to dry. Not only is it a long, tedious, and messy job to replace a lite, but if you don't have experience doing it, the results may look awful. You are bidding on One Antique East Lake Victorian Cast Iron Window Sash Latch Lock with Keeper. The lock measures 2 1/4" long and 1 1/2" wide. The keeper measures 2 1/4" long and about 1/2" wide. There is minor surface rust on the piece and is marked on the bottom Pat'd Feb 7 1871. There is paint residue on the bottom of both pieces. I do not see any chips. Breaks or missing parts. Antique/Vintage Architectural Window Sash From 1800's Farmhouse.Some Wavy Glass
This is a really neat 4 pane window from an old farmhouse that was built in the early 1800's. I was there when it was torn down and the main part of the house was a log cabin that they had put hand planed poplar siding over. I'm guessing from talking with the owner of the old house that the windows were put in in the late 1800's around 1870 or 1880. I have 7 of them. All very similar in appearance and condition. The glass has wavy spots that are really interesting. The wood frame is very solid. The window could actually be cleaned up and reused! No rot or insect damage. The window frame is 28" X 28 3/4" X 1-3/8" The actual windows are 25-5/8" X 5-1/2" The nine pics shown are all of the same window.
