The finish is beautiful and there are only a few light scuffs on it, and a few light scratches from general use, but no major scratches or gouges in the finish. The desk is vintage and is made from solid wood. I am unsure of its exact age or manufacture. The grain and finish on the desk are quite beautiful. The supports for the desk top slide in and out automatically when the desk writing surface is lowered and raised. The inside of the drawers is a little dusty and will need a light cleaning. The writing surface is 29” high when open, is 29.75” deep, and 36” wide.

It has lovely carved accents and trim. The key is intact with it and the little side supports come out automatically when the front writing desk surface is lowered. Someone has unfortunately drilled a hole in the back that is about 2" in diameter. The desk has 4 drawers with all of the original knobs intact. It stands 41" tall at the trim at the back, 40" tall at the top, is 41" wide at the feet, 37" wide at the top, and is a total of 22" deep at the bottom, and 19" deep at the top.

19th C. Diminutive Primitive Slant lid Writing Clerks Childs Desk Spanish Rustic
Not sure what this really is but questions and comments welcome. Looks kind of fancy to be a child's desk but at 21x17x44-1/2 tall it makes a small adult desk. Possibly was it was meant to be portable and it does have a hasp lock on the lid.So some kind valuables were meant to be kept inside. It is very well made and sturdy,someone took the time to cut and joint this together,its not just a bunch of boards nailed together. Even the top board has a slight bevel the goes all they way around the bottom of the board. I'm thinking it may be Spanish or European and from the mid 1800 judging by the few nails that you can see. Beside the bottom wire hinge on right top door needing fixed all it needs is a quick dusting,it have a great old natural wood patina that does not need any color added to it. Antique American Cherry Hepplewhite Slant Front Desk. Pennsylvania, Ca. 1800 Probably central Pennsylvania. Circa 1800. The form consisting of a hardwood case resting on flared French bracket feet with four drawers(each having a lip moulded edge. Recessed brass escutcheon and wooden knobs) The verticals with an inlaid large panel of ebonized wood. The interior fitted with with a typical arrangement of pigeonholes and six drawers(three on either side) Each area separated by a strip of tiger maple veneer. A central prospect door opens to reveal an internal storage area. The wooden knobs on the drawers to the best of our knowledge are original. The interior of the drawers have a old yellow lacquered finish. Probably done over 100 years ago. MEASUREMENTS: 42-1/2" x 21-1/2" x 46-1/4" high. CONDITION: Wear consistent with age. An antique. Probably 18th century, possibly English or Continental, quartersawn oak slant lift top captain's desk. It has steel hinges and escutcheon with clasp and keyhole over. The front is hand carved with flutings. It measures 10-3/4" tall by 25-1/4" wide by 16-1/2" deep. Good condition: original finish, horizontal crack to left side board, base oak molding a later addition, missing the interior shelves or cubbyholes, missing the original lock.
