This mirror is supported on two uprights that have the original brass threaded cheval bolts with decorative knobs. It has its original gold gilt gesso liner and intracately original beveled mirror glass. This is a super attractive shaving mirror with an Ogee curved profiled front to the base containing three drawers. Two of the drawers(the righ and left sides) have been professionally rebuilt and restored in addition to all the four finely crafted bracket feet. These are period accurate feet for this mirror and a sizable investment has been made in correctly restoring the base of this mirror. The piece is coming up on 300 years old and pieces don't get this age without some issues and attention being paid to them. Fortunately this was a professional restoration and not some hack repair we inhertitated and need to have addressed. But we did pay appropriately for the pleasure. One other issue worthy of mention-at some point a previous owner had installed probably brass finials with threaded rods on the tops of the uprights. We are offering the way it is. If you would like finials we would be happy to direct you to several sources for them or have something custom turned by our woodworker. This is an fantastic piece and we were lucky to obtain it. Projecting over the front and sides with tight turrets at the corners over spiral-turned columns- these complex formations transition from a series of tight ring turnings into the spiral balusters over tiny urns and completed with a series of complex ring turnings over cork feet. The columns define the chest, greatly elevating the form with tasteful embellishment that does not distract from the overall composition. The graduated two over three drawers retain their original rosewood knobs, these flanking the inverted tear-drop escutcheons and framed as a whole in the rectangular stringer inlays. ITEM DESCRIPTION Item Description Up for your consideration is a fine antique diminuitive cabinet. Made of solid mahogany, c. 1870. The cabinet features 4 drawers, the top two having several compartments. It was lined in fabric perhaps 50 years ago, and measures 14" wide, 13" high, and 11" deep. It is in very good condition. There are losses to the bottom portion of the bottom two brass pulls. Which is mostly hidden when the pulls are down. There is also moderate surface scratching to the top(as shown) and two long vertical cracks at the extreme edges of the back piece of wood, from age-related drying. There are no chips, or other cracks to the piece, all the drawers function proper
