The dresser stands on square back legs and round turned front bun feet supporting the main section where there are two large doors to the bottom. Above these doors there are two drawers that have lovely drop handles leading to the top that is in good condition leading to a bull nosed edge. The top itself sits neatly upon the base and is slightly set back being supported on two columns where there is an open section for storage purposes. There are two doors above with the most wonderfully carved corbles again that are slightly different to the bottom carvings. Behind the doors there is a shelf for storage. Being offered for sale is this Monumental American Empire Mahogany& Crotch Mahogany Dresser/ vanity with large Carved Paw Feet circa 1880's. This is a huge beautiful 19th century dresser that offers a tremendous amount of storage possibilities with all the drawers in crotch mahogany with the original glass pulls. The original crotch mahogany framed beveled dressing mirror with powerful S scroll mirror supports and carved Paw Feet with hidden casters intact on the feet and we believe this piece to also have its original finish. This outstanding Empire dresser measures 73 inches in height from the floor to the top of the mirror. Height to the sides from the floor measures 45 inches, height from the floor to the drop center portion measures 17 1/4 inches, total width of the dresser is 69 inches, total depth of 23 1/2 inches and weighs ... moreapproximately 200 lbs. The original beveled mirror measures 41 1/4 inches high by 24 1/2 inches wide. This dresser does disassemble into 7 pieces for easier handling during shipping and moving. All of the locks are intact on this piece but we do not have the key. The original beveled mirror does show some streaking and spotting as common in antique mirrors. And the mirror does pivot front to back to adjust for viewing. The top left portion of the mirror does have a lift in the frame edge, and there are some areas of missing veneer above and below the center bottom drawer this is typical of these Empire pieces and doesn't affect the integrity of the piece by no means, just a part of the time worn characteristics these old pieces have endured over the past 100 years or so. Gorgeous carved solid walnut Gentleman's 6 drawer dresser chest original finish
This is a beautiful example of a Gentleman's dresser or chest. Early Victorian era and style. The sides and front of the dresser are solid walnut, as are the dove-tailed drawer fronts. With the added beauty of burled walnut oval panels. The black and brass teardrop drawer pulls are old and not reproduction, but not original to the piece. There probably was either a tw o- post earlier brass handle or a carved pull. T he finish is original. It has two vanity boxes on top. And the dresser is finished off with a small wood pediment bet ween the vanity boxes. I estimate this chest to be from the 1880's. Which makes it one hundred and thirty years old. It has had very good care throughout its' life. And is in excellent condition, with just wear due to age and usage. The burl veneer is all intact. None missing-which is incredible for ... moreits' age! There is one slightly lighter ring on the top and a few scratches on the bottom panel. But nothing noticeable. There are four drawers-the two in the center are slightly less deep and the top and bottom ones are a little deeper. Due to the design of the chest. There are carved and turned supports up the front corners of each side. Ending in a spoon-carved small corbel on either side. This piece has more character than most of the Victorian dressers I've seen and was probably a high-end piece in its' day. There is a key that came with the dresser, that fits the locks-but, they won't turn, for the most part. So, it could be made to lock, but, at the moment, it won't. The brass locks are all there. The measurements are: 41 inches wide by 47 inches high by 17 inches deep. I am happy to take and send more photos. If you are interested. The dresser can be picked-up. Top board is is 23 1/2" x48 1/2" Sides have 19 1/2" wide boards 7 drawers: 3 over 4 12 glass pulls Top drawers has a veneer band around the edges. Hairy carved lion paw feet. Fine dovetail drawers open smoothly. In great condition for the age. Back boards need to be better secured. A few minor imperfections/surface scratches on the piece but overall beautiful for an 1800's dresser! I prefer local pickup but would be open to working with buyers supplied transport for pickup.

Description Large Victorian Heavily Carved Gothic Revival Dresser. One of the most fantastic dressers it's ever been my pleasure to own. C arving to most surfaces including the edge of th e plank oak lower se ction top. The oak has aged wonderfully with wear through in many places to the natural wood colour. The patination is great and tells the tale of it's hi story beautifully. The dresser itself is constructed in a quality rustic method. The upper section planks are pushed thro ugh and pegged. The lower section is made of oak throughout and is a str uggle for 2 people to carry. It's THAT heavy! The whole lower unit is peg construction. That's the highest quality cabinet construction method. Even now. The handles are G eorgian style batwing one s. They could well be G eorgian ones from an early cabinet. The centre section ... morehas four drawer fronts on it. The upper two are a drop down drinks cabinet/bureau, the lower two are a pull out nine bottle wine cell ar. One ha ndle here do es have it's swinging section missing. This is on one of them tha t isn't used luckily. You don't notice it unless you look for it! T he cupboards at each side are large and have a drawer above with complimentary carving to their edges. There is a nod to the arts and crafts movement on the up per section. Very ornate carved wishbone mirror, fancy carved key escutcheons on the drawer fronts and the original wood pulls on the drawers with dove-tailed joinery on the drawer ends. This fine 19th century dresser measures 77 inches in height to the top of the carved crest on the mirror. Height to the marble at the front measures 33 3/4 inches, width measures 40 inches and depth front to back is 19 1/4 inches and this dresser weighs approximately 150 lbs. layaway available on any of my listings should anyone have an interest in that. up for auction is the nicest empire vanity i have seen in all the years i have been messing with antiques. i bought this not long ago and have it in my dining room as there is no where else to put it in my 20 room house. i have another one in a bedroom upstairs that i will list shortly. hopefully it will sell and not this one as i want to actually keep this one. anyway. I have seen a dozen or so of these, but none this nice. it is serpentine, heavily carved mirror harp, pedestal, feet and wings, along with carved roping surrounding the vanity top. the mirror shows some fog, which does not bother me, i can have that corrected for about 100.00 should someone want that accomplished. it is free from damage or repairs as far as i can ascertain. i think the knobs on ... morethe two serpentine drawers are original as well. this is a wonderful empire piece made around 1860 or so i think out of the most wonderful flame mahogany as you will find. the piece has wonderful patina and is gorgeous. the pictures do not do it justice. it stands 49.5 to the top of the mirror, it is about 30 inches to the vanity top and 22 inches deep at the widest point of the serpentine top. it is 44 inches wide at the back of the top and 38 inches wide at the front of the top. shipping will be the buyers responsibility. you may arrange a carrier, or i will do it for you, or you may pick it up at my home. if the carrier requires a crate, i will build it for the cost of the material and will not charge any labor. the material will cost about 50.00 for the crate, if required. i need to sell one of these vanities, don't have room for both. i am starting this at probably all it is worth, but if you want the best, this is for you! i bought it because it was the nicest one i have seen in years and years. i doubt you can find another one like it, and if so, it will be expensive. i will be glad to answer any questions or supply other pictures upon request. good luck

antique victorian mahogany heavily carved dresser mitchell & rammelsburg empire
ebay allows 12 pictures. for this piece that is not nearly enough to do a decent job in describing and showing it. at any rate. Here is a wonderful antique serpentine front dresser most likely by mitchell and rammelsburg. if not by them, someone equally as gifted in furniture making. the dresser is mahogany and stands 94.5 inches tall on its original porcelain casters. it is 49 inches wide and 24 inches deep. it has 4 drawers. the one at the bottom does not appear to be a drawer. it was crafted to be a hidden drawer. there are no pulls on it and it is carved differently to appear as the bottom splash board of the dresser. the dresser is quite heavy, the drawers are well made with the front serpentine boards being about 1.25 inches thick. notice the joints of the drawers, all hand cut dovetails which date the piece to circa 1870-1880. it has ... morea large mirror harp as you can see that is pierced carved and has candle stands, finials, crests, and other nice details that make this a very desirable dresser. the mirror is arch shaped and shows some smokiness and a little silver loss. the mirror is actually in better condition than most. i do not know if the mirror is original but the backing appears to be. at the base of the mirror harp on each side is a nice glove box with a drawer that is hand carved dovetails. i forgot to get pictures of these with the drawers open, nor did i show the four drawers of the dresser open as i ran out of picture spaces allowed by ebay. the drawers all open with ease and each drawer is designed for its specific space. i have a book that is dated 1991 that lists a dresser like this but not as nice for 2250.00. it has great form and beauty, the front of the dresser corners are especially nice. the marble is original and is in great condition for its age. any questions please ask and if you want more pictures i have several and would be glad to supply them, again just ask for what you want. the dresser may be picked up at my home or shipped at buyer's expense. i know the pictures are bad, i

An Antique Rosewood over Oak Dresser w/ Marble Insert Dates to the Late 1800's. in very good condition considering the age and use. Now the Story. Bought this dresser for my Daughter-in-Law. Guess what. Got it home and she stuck her nose up at it. You know it does not pay to try and but things they ask for you almost always get the same results. The Dresser measures 39 inches wide. 19 inches Deep and stands 31 inches tall to the top of the side drawers. The dresser has hand carved Rosewood handles. there is a rosewood veneer on the front of the drawers. the Dresser does need a good cleaning. In the pictures there is no marble. I have several pieces of marble and will cut one of them to fit. The dresser has super detailing on the front corners see pictures. Pick-up preferred but as always shipping can be arranged. Very Nice Antique Empire Style Dresser with hand carved columns, flame mahogany
Hi. And thanks for looking! This listing is for a real antique empire style dresser. This is a good sized piece, 47 inches high, 42.5 wide, and 23 deep. There is three drawers on the bottom and two up top, all with hand cut dovetails. I think the bottoms of the drawers as well as other parts are all one piece of wood with no seams. The front has beautiful flame mahogany veneer which is in fairly good shape except on the top drawers, which have slight curve. Along each side of the front are greek colums with hand carved details top and bottom. The top of the dresser is two boards that have been painted to look like wood grain. There is a gap in between them, due to age I suppose. All the drawer pulls are clear glass, I don't think they are original, but they are old, and some don't match exactly. Antique dresser with carved grape handles
This dresser has 3 large drawers that each have carved handles. The handles are grapes& leaves(see photo) On the casters. The dresser dimensions are 41-3/4" wide X 17" deep X 43-3/4" tall(to the top of the small drawers on top) It is a unique piece and I am not sure of the wood but it looks like butternut. It is a beautiful color, all wooden with dovetail drawers. Their is an inlaid wooden star on top of each of the smaller drawers on the dresser top. The piece shows normal wear and the original finish is still very nice. I took a photo of the right side which shows a groove that does not go all the way thorough the side board. Also. There is some aging to the top- photo of that included also. This is a lovely. Unique piece of American history and I am hoping it finds a good home!

A very fine antique. Circa 1890's, carved and burled walnut marble top dresser with attached mirror frame and beveled mirror. Two piece construction. The case has three short drawers over two long drawers, with the original brass pulls. The drawer interiors are maple. Light burl walnut veneers across the drawers. The sides have a recessed panel. A finely mottled brown and white beveled marble slab is on top. The mirror frame is supported with a frame of deep carved classical cornice having acanthus, drapped swag, and serpentine ribbon. The mirror frame support measures 4'9" 57" tall by 3'7" 43" wide by 3" deep, the mirror glass 29" by 27-1/2" The dresser measures 3'8" 44" wide by 2'4" 28" tall by 20" deep. Antique Crotch Mahogany Dresser w/ Acanthus Carved Columns Picture Framed Mirror
This is for a Antique Crotch Mahogany Dresser with Acanthus Carved Columns Picture Framed Mirror. This is a wonderful antique crotch mahogany dresser with acanthus carved columns on each side of the original picture framed mirror and on each side of the dresser base. The fancy carved columns flow down to a heavy claw foot on each side with the original wheels under them. Some wheels made need a little oil to get them to roll freely. All drawers have glass knobs although some of them are not original. The top has some stains but you may be able to just buff them out if you decide to. The mirror is original with some fading that you can use as is or replace it with a new mirror. The drawers are held together with handcut dovetails and the inside are made of quarter sawn oak. Majestic antique Victorian Eastlake mahogany dresser(late 1800s) has a rose-colored marble top, four(4) drawers with original brass pulls and key locks(no key available) and a carved pedestal mirror. The dresser is in excellent antique condition, with great structural integrity, beautiful wood with few signs of wear or aging, smoothly operating drawers, great adjustable pedestal mirror, rose marble top that is largely very good, bearing a few surface scratches(these are not deep and can be buffed out- please see photo of marble and specific scratches) and original one-inch-high casters that can be removed, if so desired. The carved pedestal mirror portion of dresser can be removed from base of mahogany dresser. The piece is a warm wood tone, with nice carved detailing at top. Victorian Golden Oak Bow Front 2 Over 2 Dresser With Carved Mirror
Beautiful Golden Oak Victorian Dresser with mirror. It's 40" wide. 20" deep and about 67" high with mirror. Very nice condition. There are 2 small dark spots on the top which can be seen in photo slightly. Dove tailed construction on the drawers and hand carving on the oval mirror. On the sides of one of the bottom drawers the dove tailing is slightly warped from age and split slightly but the drawer opens and closes smoothly with no effort and is solid. If anything the color is slightly more golden than in the photos. And it is on castors. Mirror is removed easily. This is pick up only. Thanks.

Federal antique Carved Wood Mahogany Cheval mirror Dresser Vanity Jewelry Box Here is an outstanding handsome gentlemen's dresser box with cheval tilting mirror. From antiques estate! seems to be mahogany, a nice dark wood, with nice patina brass drawer knobs and swivel hardware for the mirror. so much detail work in the carving of the reeded cheval brace topped with the beautiful pineapple finials. Click on photos for close up view! There is a slight overall haze in the mirror's silvering, commensurates with the true turn of century glass mirrors. This is about 18 inches tall x 19 inches wide x 12 inches deep. A couple very minor knicks and a burnt burl spot on the flat surface-see photos. Beautiful wood. this appears to have been gently used. Lovely design. Weighs about 18 lbs.

1800s Eastlake Hand-Carved Mahogany Dresser Top Shaving Swivel Mirror w Drawer
This is an antique Eastlake hand-carved dresser cabinet with a swivel mirror and one drawer. Quite unusual and ornate in styling. Lots of hand-carved detailing including a lovely Victorian fern in a pot on the top of the drawer. The initials"DB" are carved into the pot of the fern. Perhaps this was made as a gift to"DB" In generally good condition with what appears to be the original finish. The mirror has a good deal of silver loss but no cracks or chips. It sits firmly and holds its position when swiveled. There is a small stress crack on the left rear corner(next to the mirror support) which has been repaired and is now quite stable. See close-up. The rest of the piece is remarkably free of scratches or cracks. The bow-front drawer slides open and closed smoothly. Appears to be the original, ornate knob. Oak Eastlake Spoon Carved Dresser with beveled mirror
For your consideration is this beautiful oak Eastlake style dresser. With intricate spoon carving throughout. It's three drawers have the original pressed brass handles. Overall condition is good, although it is an antique and so the occasional scratch or ding should be expected. The grain on this piece is incredibly tight and bespeaks true old growth lumber construction. The drawers are dove-tailed, although it should be noted that the middle drawer has had the sides and bottom replaced. Please note that the streaks in the beveled mirror are the result of my failed Windex job, not an imperfection in the mirror. The mirror itself is near perfect, with only small spots of very faint clouding in the upper corners(I had actually never noticed them until careful inspection in preparation for selling) Dimensions are as follows: 17.5 inches ... moredeep. 41 inches wide, base is 31.5 inches tall, mirror adds an additional 40 inches(overall height 6ft. This was one of my first antique purchases. And we have since moved towards a walnut Renaissance Revival style, so it was time to find this piece a home where it won't be such a misfit. Local pick-up is preferred. Although if you live within an hour or two I can deliver for a small fee, or I will work with a shipper of your choice should you choose that route. VICTORIAN Burl Walnut Wishbone Mirror DRESSER& Gentleman's CHEST This elegant Victorian drop front Wishbone Mirror dresser chest and matching Ladies' or Gentleman's chest is constructed of walnut with burl accents. The style is consistent with the period of"Renaissance Revival. Ca. 1860. They both have the original finish, wooden casters and working antique keys. These pieces feature Renaissance Revival/ Rococo elements including serpentine ribbed"carpenter's lace" on the edges and around the dresser's tilt mirror. They have applied hand carved drawer pulls. Escutcheons and other decorative elements in a leaf and flower design. The corners and edges are rounded. And the casings around the drawers and most edges are curved and double or triple ribbed. The dresser has a wishbone tilt mirror on pedestal ... morebase. Handkerchief drawers and three large drawers. There are turned finials on the mirror posts and spindles on the sides of the handkerchief drawers. The three large drawers lock. The chest has an upper cabinet with shelf. Probably for hats or bonnets, one small drawer possibly for gloves and another larger drawer at the bottom. The top part of the cabinet features cathedral shaped burled panel doors that close with a hook on the inside and a lock. The drawers do not lock. Measurements: Dresser- 42" W x 20" D x 42" to top of small drawers x 77" H Chest- 34" W x 16" D x 44" H The overall condition is very good considering the age. One spindle on the dresser's outer left handkerchief drawer has a missing part of about 1/2 inch. There are minor cracks on the sides.
