Drexel is a manufacture of high quality solid wood furniture. Please check the pictures for a better look at some of the wear on the vanity top and towards the bottom. It is still in great solid. Sturdy condition and the drawers are all dovetailed and clean. There is some finish rubbed off in areas toward the bottom front of legs(pictured) main wear is on left very bottom side(pictured) but there are other areas in the front that have finish rubbed off from age/use. There is some staining on the very right side top of vanity(pictured) This can be easily lightly refinished to make perfect. someone has been bugging me to list this twin bed set for 3 or 4 years so i consented to do so the other day when he called. doubtful he will buy them. But they are offered for sale at this time. this is what is known as a show stopper. i have been piddling with antiques for nearly 50 years and have never seen or owned a better twin bed set. here we have an r j horner twin bed set created by horner in his french style. they are of course mahogany with the finest grain you will ever find on a furniture piece of mahogany. the beds are thick, that is the head and foot board. they have wonderful form and beauty and are as you can see carved to death. the high boy as you also see matches the beds. the high boy is just the very best and will take your breath away. it is serpentine in the front as well as the sides. the beds have high dollar box ... moresprings and mattress. they do not go with the set, but i would sell them at a very discounted price. i have about 1000 each in the box springs and mattress including the comforter set. i would sell them for 300 each if someone buys the set and wants them. to my knowledge no one has ever slept on them. i have 8 bedrooms up stairs and really don't have many overnighters and i don't remember them ever being used. at any rate, should you buy the set, these can go with it for 600.00 on top of the sale price of the set. i have the box springs and mattress sitting on slats that attach to the bed rails, should you want the top of the mattress lower, the box spring and mattress can rest on the floor between the rails and lower the top about 10 inches. the mahogany grain on the beds and high boy is not to be surpassed, it is the very best. the condition of the set is mint, but i can't say mint because it is over 120 years old and must have a few little bumps and bruises here and there but none noticeable. it is museum quality however. the rails fit into the head and foot boards with dowels and are then bolted together within the rails and it is as solid as ever and does not wi

Gorgeous American Empire antique chest of drawers.Circa 1825-1830 This piece is quite likely attributed to the work of master cabinet maker. Thomas Day of North Carolina. It has many features consistent with his craftsmanship and style.He was regarded as one of the finest cabinetmakers in the United States. It is quite remarkable considering the state of our country at the time regarding slavery.He was African American, also known as a free man of color by historians.To be such successful entrepreneur and distinguished cabinetmaker was very rare, considering all of the societal norms at the time. Mr. Day served some of the wealthiest clients including two governors of North Carolina.Word spread quickly about his amazing craftsmanship and quality. Wonderful crotch/flame mahogany veneered drawer fronts.The cabinetmaker was an artist as well as a craftsman to select such stunning crotch mahogany and the skill to showcase. It is second to none. The rest of the chest features solid mahogany& solid cherry woods. The secondary woods are pine. This 7 drawer chest has fantastic grains throughout.The entire chest was hand made, no doubt by an early American craftsman. A rare feature is the style of the curved drawer front of the 2 upper drawers on the lower chest(photo) It features incredible precise hand cut dovetail joinery on all 4 corners of each drawer. The drawers also feature hand planed(chamfered) drawer bottoms, with no evidence of machine tooling.The drawers have solid brass inlaid keyhole escutcheons. One drawer is missing the internal lock set, there is no key.I restored the chest from top to bottom,including the two small upper level drawers with book matched flame mahogany veneer. including some veneer restoration on the front of the chest. We are pleased to offer this beautiful antique mahogany dresser with matching mirror. The maker of this piece is unknown and we believe this dates to the late 1800's- early 1900's. The dresser stands approximately 36.5" high. The width is 21 5/8" and the length is 46" The mirror is made from solid mahogany and has a beautiful broken arch pediment at the top with an applied carved design in the center. It measures 35.5" high to the top of the pediment. The width is 24 7/8" across the ached top and th emain body is 23.75" wide. Made from solid mahogany the dresser has a classic Chippendale style design with applied carved moldings on the bracket feet and reeded columns on the front. The dresser has four drawers with a divider in the top drawer. The drawers are all dove tail jointed and also retain the original ... morebrass pulls. The dresser appears to have had an early refinish job done on it. There are age and use appropriate scratches and dings on the top and feet. As well as a small white spot on the top. There is a small crack on the top left edge. There are also what look like fingernail marks behind the pulls. All of the drawers are tight on this piece. This is a structurally solid dresser. American Empire Antique Wig Chest Dresser Crotch Flame Mahogany~Marble Top 1825
Here we have a very Rare Empire Dresser for your consideration. This is a very fine Wishbone Mirrored Dresser with side wig curio cabinets. These dressers have always been the Cadilac of Empire Dressers. But this one is one of the finest we have ever seen. The burled or Flame Mahogany is fantastic. The colors are just beautiful. We do not have the exact history. But the party we bought the dresser from, told us that this dresser was saved in Katrina from the Huricane in New Orleans. It was transported north and sold to raise money for the people who once owned it there. We bought it from the next party who purchased it. The dresser is of such fine quality, and has all original parts. The only thing it may need is some new screws in the back when the wig cabinets mount. At the moment it is all assembled and they were not needed. But when the ... moredresser comes to its new home, that is one addition we would suggest is new screws in the back area. The wood on every side is pristine on this piece. The only thing you would find is normal wear from a dresser of such a grand age. All that is needed is a nice polish and this piece is ready to set up and be displayed with pride. The dresser is 77" tall by 43" wide by 21" deep. The mirror attaches on each curio side with wooden screws and original knobs. The drawer fronts have the carving at the top and bottoms and the matched grain of the wood is outstanding. This piece could be by the famous cabinet maker Thomas Day. As even the sides of the dresser have fantastic matched graining. The hand made dove tails and brass locks, are all top notch and fine quality. The marble top inset is beautiful thick Italian Marble with nice grain and detail. There are no chips, nor cracks on the marble. It could use a polish from a marble professional. But the patina and wear only adds charactor to the piece. Antique Victorian Flame Mahogany dresser is made of Flame Mahogany. Has 5 drawers. Has porcelain wheels. Is in good usable condition. Has a place in the back for a mirror attachment but I don't have the mirror. I was told when I bought it that it was from the 1890's and from England. antique mahogany empire dresser chest miniature salesman sample childs Fresh from an estate and new to the market is this mahogany miniature dresser. Possible a salesman sample or apprentice piece. I believe it is empire style. It measures 8 1/2" wide by 8 3/3" high by 4" deep. drawers are all dovetailed by hand and square head nails used for the other parts. There is grooves on the top drawers where I believe there was a mirror at one time which has been long lost. It is missing one pull and I don't know if they are original. One leg is missing in the back. the piece does have a piece off of the front edge of the top. I believe it is the original finish with wear from the years. I have seen a dozen or so of these, but none this nice. it is serpentine, heavily carved mirror harp, pedestal, feet and wings, along with carved roping surrounding the vanity top. the mirror shows some fog, which does not bother me, i can have that corrected for about 100.00 should someone want that accomplished. it is free from damage or repairs as far as i can ascertain. i think the knobs on ... morethe two serpentine drawers are original as well. this is a wonderful empire piece made around 1860 or so i think out of the most wonderful flame mahogany as you will find. the piece has wonderful patina and is gorgeous. the pictures do not do it justice. it stands 49.5 to the top of the mirror, it is about 30 inches to the vanity top and 22 inches deep at the widest point of the serpentine top. it is 44 inches wide at the back of the top and 38 inches wide at the front of the top. shipping will be the buyers responsibility. you may arrange a carrier, or i will do it for you, or you may pick it up at my home. if the carrier requires a crate, i will build it for the cost of the material and will not charge any labor. the material will cost about 50.00 for the crate, if required. i need to sell one of these vanities, don't have room for both. i am starting this at probably all it is worth, but if you want the best, this is for you! i bought it because it was the nicest one i have seen in years and years. i doubt you can find another one like it, and if so, it will be expensive. i will be glad to answer any questions or supply other pictures upon request. good luck

ebay allows 12 pictures. for this piece that is not nearly enough to do a decent job in describing and showing it. at any rate. Here is a wonderful antique serpentine front dresser most likely by mitchell and rammelsburg. if not by them, someone equally as gifted in furniture making. the dresser is mahogany and stands 94.5 inches tall on its original porcelain casters. it is 49 inches wide and 24 inches deep. it has 4 drawers. the one at the bottom does not appear to be a drawer. it was crafted to be a hidden drawer. there are no pulls on it and it is carved differently to appear as the bottom splash board of the dresser. the dresser is quite heavy, the drawers are well made with the front serpentine boards being about 1.25 inches thick. notice the joints of the drawers, all hand cut dovetails which date the piece to circa 1870-1880. it has ... morea large mirror harp as you can see that is pierced carved and has candle stands, finials, crests, and other nice details that make this a very desirable dresser. the mirror is arch shaped and shows some smokiness and a little silver loss. the mirror is actually in better condition than most. i do not know if the mirror is original but the backing appears to be. at the base of the mirror harp on each side is a nice glove box with a drawer that is hand carved dovetails. i forgot to get pictures of these with the drawers open, nor did i show the four drawers of the dresser open as i ran out of picture spaces allowed by ebay. the drawers all open with ease and each drawer is designed for its specific space. i have a book that is dated 1991 that lists a dresser like this but not as nice for 2250.00. it has great form and beauty, the front of the dresser corners are especially nice. the marble is original and is in great condition for its age. any questions please ask and if you want more pictures i have several and would be glad to supply them, again just ask for what you want. the dresser may be picked up at my home or shipped at buyer's expense. i know the pictures are bad, i

Estimated to have been made in the 1850s, is gorgeous. The dresser's mirror-image crotch-grain mahogany is absolutely beautiful, a hallmark of quality in fine furniture construction. English Regency 6 Drawer Chest Dresser, Egyptian Motifs, Mahogany, ~1820 Antique
This is an English. Circa 1820, six drawer chest or dresser. It is made with thick, bookmatched mahogany veneer over pine, double raised panel sides, and fluted columns resting on strong spade feet. The original Egyptian Revival gilt brasses celebrated Britain's 1798 defeat of Napoleon in The Battle of the Nile, and the subsequent discoveries of Egyptian art and culture. The chest is 50" high, 40 3/8" wide, and 23 1/8" deep. Five drawers are approximately 6 3/4" high, and the bottom drawer is 8 1/2" high. I cannot find a maker's identification, but the frame and drawers are hand numbered in pencil. This chest was professionally refinished approximately 30 years ago, and it has been used irregularly since that time. Small areas in the secondary wood of the drawers were filled at the time of refinishing, but ... morethis appears to have been done for cosmetic purposes only. There is no movement in any of the joinery including the legs, and the drawers work very well for a chest of this age. As is appropriate, I suspect the chest with drawers weighs 250 lbs. There are age appropriate scratches and bumps here and there, and particularly on the top and top drawer face. Also, there is long-term wear to the veneer at the location of the ring pulls. Many of the hardware posts(which hold the ring pulls) have been replaced, and the two original posts on the bottom drawer are a bit loose. Further, some of the nuts that fasten the pulls to the drawers have been replaced. Lastly, one of the drawer locks is missing, as is the key. I would recommend Ball and Ball, Exton for the repair, replacement and or keying of the locks. I believe the clean lines and strong profiles of this chest exemplify good Regency furniture. Antique Empire Dresser, mahogany, mirror veneer, 19th century, good condition
An Empire Bureau. Or chest of drawers made of mahogany in the early half of the 19th century. This is a grand piece of furniture that would look great in any large space-hallway, large master bedroom, dining room. We had it in our hallway in a 1803 house in upstate New York. There are four large drawers and three small drawers at the top. The largest drawer is directly below the three small top drawers, consistent with the style. Drawer fronts are a mirror veneer, rest of the wood is solid. The drawer pulls are brass. This is a solid, well-built dresser. It is heavy. It stands about 52 inches high, is about 47 inches wide and about 21 inches deep. The drawers are about 16 inches deep. The finish is in relatively good condition; there are scrapes, scuffs, nicks and scratches but it would not necessarily need to be refinished. I believe that the dresser is from the early half of the 19th century because the nails used on the back boards are type I cut(photographed) The back boards are soft wood with a rich brown patina on the back, the part exposed to air. Antique Mahogany Bow Front 4-Drawer Dresser / Chest - Mid 19th C
Beautiful antique chest of drawers in mahogany with a gentle sweep of a bow front. All original. Including its finish, as I hope you see in my close-ups. It features four nice deep drawers, perfect for storage, and has the dust panels between each level. The top pair drawers' inside measurements are 15 1/2" across by 5 1/2" tall, and are 15" to 17" deep, given the curvature of the front. The middle drawer's inside measurements are 32 1/4" across by 7" tall and 14 1/4" to 16 1/4" deep. The bottom drawer's inside measurements are the same as the middle except it is a little deeper at 7 1/2" tall. Overall. The measurements of the chest are 35 1/4" tall by 34 3/4" across by 16 1/4" to 19 3/4" deep. All four drawers work perfectly and have hand-done dovetail joints. Each ... moredrawer has original brass pulls and locks, though the key is missing. The finish is in great condition overall. I did my best to take accurate pictures of the style and quality. Very Nice Antique Empire Style Dresser with hand carved columns, flame mahogany
Hi. And thanks for looking! This listing is for a real antique empire style dresser. This is a good sized piece, 47 inches high, 42.5 wide, and 23 deep. There is three drawers on the bottom and two up top, all with hand cut dovetails. I think the bottoms of the drawers as well as other parts are all one piece of wood with no seams. The front has beautiful flame mahogany veneer which is in fairly good shape except on the top drawers, which have slight curve. Along each side of the front are greek colums with hand carved details top and bottom. The top of the dresser is two boards that have been painted to look like wood grain. There is a gap in between them, due to age I suppose. All the drawer pulls are clear glass, I don't think they are original, but they are old, and some don't match exactly. Antique 19th Century Mahogany Chest of Drawers - Dresser - Square Nails
It is an antique chest. The chest has mahogany veneer. The drawer sides and bottom are made of oak. The drawers have square nails and the underside of the drawers are hand chamfered. The interior of the pulls have carved mother of pearl. It is 48 1/2" tall x 21" deep x 49" wide. The chest is in fair used condition. The drawers open and close fairly smooth. The veneer has some warping. Chips and old repairs. The top is loose and has some dings, staining and remnants of tape. Overall, it presents well. A true antique. The chest could be restored or be used as it sits. Free local pickup. I may be able to deliver in the Kansas City area. Message me if interested.

This dresser has two top drawers over one long hidden drawer all over three drawers.It has two lift top storage areas on the top. There are a few veneer chips on the drawers.
