This is a gorgeous almost queen-size period empire sleigh bed that dates from the 1860s era. We did some touch ups and repairs on the veneer chips in the shop. And sanded it down and re-sprayed the whole bed. It has its original bolt-in rails, and it measures 60 inches wide by 78 inches long on the inside. A queen-size bed is usually 80 inches long. If you want the bed extended, we will put an extension on the end of the rail for you at no charge to make it a modern-day queen-size. The outside dimensions are 63 inches wide, 32 inches on the footboard, and 43 inches on the headboard. It’s a beautiful bed that’s all set to go. There is a short top shelf above the backsplash mirror. The mirror appears to be original and it does have some slight fogging and freckling. The backsplash mirror is beveled and flanked by“S” corbels supporting the upper shelf. The base has 4 drawers and 2 doors all with wood knob pulls. The two top drawers are bow front. The drawer on the left is lined with faded green velvet and divided into 3 sections. The drawers all have dovetail construction and glide in and out easily. The doors hide open storage. Casters sit beneath the large curved Empire style feet on all 4 legs. This piece does have some nicks and scuffs from the years however it is in overall great condition. I do not know the maker or exact date it was made. This piece is antique and will not be perfect. This buffet measures 55 1/8 inches tall. 61 ¾ inches side to side and 25 3/8 inches front to back.
