Good overall condition, This four door mahogany breakfront bookcase comes from England. The mahogany is accented with subtle satinwood string inlays on the lower doors and drawers. The astragal glazed doors at the top all lock. And each section of glass is an individual pane. This combined with the dovetailed drawers shows the high level of quality that went into the creation of this lovely bookcase. Originally made around 1960, the bookcase remains in very good condition today with minor wear around the feet and step back where the lower cabinet meets the upper cabinet. The wooden shelves in the upper cabinet are adjustable with a brass pigeon hole system. The entire bookcase comes apart into two pieces(top and bottom) to make it easier to move. The shelf depth in the upper cabinet is 10.75" Each drawer has a brass swan neck drop pull and opens and closes very easily. Finally, the top is finished off with a dentil moulded cornice. This wonderful bookcase is very sturdy and would make a beautiful addition to any home or office! As you can see there is a large amount of storage and display space. The shelves are adjusted with a brass pigeon hole system. The lower cabinet doors display a gorgeous flame mahogany grain. These are the pulls on the drawers. Each drawer is also constructed with dovetailed joints. A sign of quality craftsmanship. This close up of the step back shows some of the minor wear you will find in that area.
