Please refer to the photos for a complete description of condition. The camera captures the felt as blue, but my eyes tell me it is a purple color. The front has deeply scrolled cabriole legs, each fitted with a leaf-shaped shelf, with a shaped lower shelf. The skirt has a carved shell cartouche. The top is of white statuary marble with nice bevelled curves. The American Rococo Revival style furniture such as this étagère pier table were often found in homes of the Antebellum era. This is a handsome and monumental piece. With the emphasis on graceful line.The leaf-shaped lower shelves are characteristic of New York etageres, which would have been echoed in the multi-shelf arrangement above. Circa 1880 SIZE:The top Measurements are: 47 3/4" wide at back 19" deep The table is 35" tall The marble top is of a lovely bevel and curved shape of fine lightly veined white Carrera style marble that really accents this piece. This table is a classic example of American Rococo Revival style with a prominent boldness and nicely carved scalloped apron.
