Vintage Solid Oak Table with the Head and Feet of a Lion
I inherited this awe-inspiring table and have no room for it in my small house. It is solid oak. Very heavy. Comes apart in two pieces, easily put together. It is very unique with the face and feet of the lion for the legs of the table. The table is 4 feet in diameter and stands 29 inches high. I was told that the table. This is a beautifully hand-made solid oak English wake table. The top is supported by a turned and gated base. It is made out of old English. Naturally distressed, oak planks with inlaid wood pegs. It's made out of solid oak and the oak is in very good condition without any rot or worm damage. It even has a small"glove box" on top. The drip pans were not with the stand. It has a solid oak board across the bottom that serves for the pans. The stand is about 21 3/4" X 10" and about 20 7/8" tall overall. Very Rare American Antique Solid Oak Table Top Showcase with French Style
Hey. I have never seen a tabletop showcase with 4 opening doors. All side, like this. And to make this even more rare is that this piece has a distinct French influence with brass attachments such as beading on top and on the sides of the case. Molding and the"bend" of the legs. Crisp finely detailed pay feet, and a central molding added to each of the doors. Now why would this small display need all FOUR side to open? Probably a custom made cabinet for some fine collection or even deserts. Please let me know if you know the answer so I can sleep better.
