Very Rare Royal Copenhagen Faun & Nymph Figure 1119 Gerhard Henning Porcelain
A very rare and hard to find Royal Copenhagen Porcelain Sculpture the Faun And Nymph by Gerhard Henning.Model number 1119. Produced only in very limited numbers. Originally introduced in 1910 and produced in very limited numbers since. This model is dated 26.11.60. I understand that the retail price was 22.000 SEK( Swedish Krona) which converts to over £2.200. Not surprisingly they are limited in number and the secondhand market reflects the scarcity. The sculpture features a Satyr or Faun and a Nymph. The kneeling Nymph is shown kissing the fawn. The plinth decorated with a garland of applied flowers. Very well modelled and typical of the work of Gerhard Henning. Italy- Firenze” The statue has a lot of delicate trim. While I am not a ceramicist it is very clear that this piece was created in stages. The layering effect can be seen in the baby's loin cloth and the flowing ribbon that attaches Mary's cape to her shoulders, as well as her curls and the green overlays of moss on the stump she is resting on. This piece belonged to a priest, who collected them, while he studied in Rome. These are two gorgeous mid to late 1800's figurines of a man and woman done in blue and white with Dresden lace. They are both 13" tall and I believe the mark on the bottom of the figures is from a German factory in the 1800s. They are wonderfully ornate. Both of the figurines are wearing hats and the man is holding an ax in one hand and the woman looks to be holding a small scythe in one of her hands. In their other hand they are holding flowers. The woman is carrying a large basket of flowers and an urn also filled with flowers is beside her. The man's arm is resting on a large pitcher which sits on a cut off tree which is also done in blue and white. The only other colors are their faces. Hair and arms as well as the ax blade which is done in silver. As is normal, some of the lace is missing but it is not noticable as the ... morelace was used very sparingly. Posted with

It measures 11+ 1/2 inches tall. NOTE: this piece is in very good condition overall. Except that the rider's right stirrup and stirrup strap are missing. Rare 1900 Nymphenburg Porcelain Whoopee Bird Figurine Porzellan Wiedehopf Figur
For sale is a rare figurine of a whoopee bird( Wiedehopf in German) made by Nymphenburg in the early 20th century. Not a model you really ever come across except in books and not one produced today anymore. The bird is really well modeled sitting on a stup with some flowers on it. Amazingly his beak is still intact which is often not the case. He is rextremely well painted- quite the stunning piece! The piece is 13.25 inches tall. 6 inches deep and 4.5 inches wide so rather large. It is marked with the impressed shield mark underneath the base as well as the impressed model number 166/ a. The hand pai nting on the porcelain faces is beautiful and I would call this 1900-1920s or so. The taffeta bodies are in reasonably good condition. No tears or holes, though both are punctured, and I think the ribbon decor and head dresses are original. The mom is 8" long and the baby is 9" long. Quite a nice pa ir for y our sewing basket. Antique 19th Century Porcelain Bust Kinderbust(Meissen style) This is a 19th century kinderbust. Purchased for $850 in 1998 from a reputable dealer in Southern California. Her receipt from that purchase has her labeled as"Saxony/Prussia's Daughter" She is from the same estate as the Meissen plates and figurines that we have listed also. She is absolutely lovely. With delicate skin coloring from her forehead to bodice, flushed cheeks, tiny painted hair peeking out the back of her bonnet and brown eyes. She is wearing a very detailed print gown with a turquoise sash across it. And the flowers on her chest are in excellent condition, we can find no chips on them. Her bonnet and gown. As well as the base are painted with gold. The red bow at her neck is articulated. With all four pieces coming up off of the main body of the statue. ... moreThe plume on her bonnet has broken off. But as you can see it is a clean break and the plume fits back on perfectly. See close-ups please. The interior of the plume has thick copper pieces in it. The base of the statue is slightly rough with a hole in the center. It looks as though this was originally glued( onto a larger base. For an item that is from at least the 1800's. She is in great shape. She measures 6.75" tall. Widest point is 4.5" across. Base measures 2.25" across. She weighs 1 lb. 5 oz. before any packaging. It depicts two rather unlikely characters in beach attire attempting to guard their modesty by whatever means lie at hand: he with his top hat and she with her tiny parasol. It is charmingly naughty and the workmanship is quite good. There are no marks that I can find. It is has a small firing hairline on the female figure's neck and no repairs and obvious losses even in the boccage in the foreground. The polychrome finish is very old. But may be 20th century. This set is decorated with vibrant yellow and purple roses. The gold trim helps accentuate the colors. This set is in great condition and lacks any cracks and chips. Just a beautiful collector piece. ANTIQUE BISQUE PORCELAIN ROBERT BURNS POET SCULPTURE BUST PARIAN WARE?
This is an excellent quality bisque bust of Robert Burns. Very. Very nice piece. Could possibly be Parian Ware. 1759-1796 Scottish poet& lyricist, regarded as the national poet of scotland. I don't know anything about the piece. It belonged to my mother& has been boxed away for over 40 years& before that it belonged to my uncle who was an antique collector.The condition is perfect, no chips or cracks, 8" high, 4 3/4' across shoulders. Marked Burns across his back shoulders& also signed in a circle but I can't read it, it looks like RocL but I can't be sure. VTG GERMAN BISQUE PORCELAIN FIGURINE STATUES EUROPEAN ADMIRAL BOY GIRL MILITARY
You are bidding on: A GORGEOUS ANTIQUE PAIR OF TALL BISQUE PORCELAIN HAND-PAINTED STATUES FEATURING A YOUNG COUPLE IN ROYAL DRESS AND BICORNE HATS. Here's a BEAUTIFUL find from an estate purchase- I acquired these several years back. And am only just now finding it time to part with them. This pair is just. Well. stunning. No other word for it. They stand about 13.5 inches tall, big enough to make a great display statement, and the colors and paint are dreamtastic! Young man is holding a small french horn in one hand and a letter in the other; young lady appears to be reading a letter just received. Both are wonderfully outfitted in period regalia. With pastel mauves and blues and gilt/gold trim, both wearing the very fashionable bicorner European hats often seen in military parades. There are no date or manufacture stamps on these figures, ... morebut experience and research tell me they are European in origin, probably German, and most likely date to the mid to early 20th century. Both have some faint pencil marks in the recessed areas of the bottoms, looks like initials and perhaps a date but too hard to read and I have no idea if that would be the mark of the original artist or a previous owner. Please know that I am extremely tough in grading my pottery. Porcelain and glassware: I've been collecting. Selling and trading antique items for over 30 years, so I know that the only perfect piece is one that just left the factory. And even then it probably has some original-manufacture flaws. I tend to call out flaws that other sellers might not notice or conveniently overlook, so when I tell you it's right, it's right. I want everybody happy. That being said. Here's what I'd note to condition: Both figures could use some light cleaning from experienced hands. They show some age in the recesses, and there are a few little"age spots" present, notably on the female's right arm area; if you are experienced with fine antique bisque you will know what I'm referring to.
