Adorable Victorian German Porcelain Conta Boehme Fairing Piano Baby Dog Figurine
This is a wonderful early Victorian fairing created by the Conta& Boehme factory of Germany. It is captioned"The Spoils of War" and shows a little baby crying with a puppy who just took her dolly! It measures 5 inches across by 3 1/4 inches high and displays nicely however part of the fence is broken in the back and either the little part in the dog's mouth is broken or it was created this way. Marked with the C&B shield mark and impressed numbers. Wonderful fairing in blue and white! Antique Stamped German Conta Boehme? Porcelain Bisque Girl Piano Baby Figurine
~ Antique German Piano Baby ~ Marked"Germany" on base with symbol that resembles a shield This is a large antique German bisque piano baby figurine that is from a deceased relative's China cabinet from the New Orleans area. I am not an expert on all the manufacturers of that era. But I do know that the authentic ones are marked or stamped with a symbol, crest or shield. This one has a stamp and also reads"Germany" on the base, while many others listed on eBay do not. So this one is not"probably" the real deal. IT IS. It is in the style of Conta& Boehme( This baby girl has golden tresses and is holding a cup. The era of this doll falls between the 1850s-1900. She has great, even pastel coloring and big dark-blue intaglio eyes with defined highlights, rosy cheeks with a hint of dimples, and an open smiling ... moremouth with row of molded upper teeth; blonde hair with pointy curls framing the happy face; bare feet with upturned toes; she wears a yellow embossed dress with gold highlights with blue lace ruffle trim and fuchsia pink bows at the shoulders, and she is holding a lavender-pink-colored cup. She is in overall fair condition. Because she is missing a little part of her index finger on her right hand. There is also a hairline on underside of base that slightly and very faintly extends up the bottom sides of the figurine(about 1/2-1/4 inch, please see photo) The hair line is smooth. I do not have the tip of the finger. PLEASE SEE PICS of underside and edge of base. Neither the hair line or little chip next to it is visible for purposes of display. I do not know enough about antique porcelain to know if the missing finger can be repaired/replaced, but I am guessing that this is possible if someone chooses to do so. There are a few scattered specks of spotty discoloration from age, the only ones really noticeable are on her toes. Up for bid and just in time for Valentine's Day. This delightful antique porcelain fairing depicting a couple getting into bed. It reads, The last in bed to put out the light" Though I'm not an expert, I'm guessing this is by Conta& Boehme. It stands approx. over 2 3/4 inches tall, about 3 inches long and about 2.25 across. It does have some condition issues. There is a chip on the front top center, some chips on very bottom base of back of piece, on man's top of leg, crack line mark, you can feel it but it doesn't affect piece. Perhaps it just where surface porcelain came off, I don't know. At the bottom of the bed there is something like a table on the other side. Gorgeous Boy and Girl Figurines by Conta Boehme of Germany. Circa 1840 They both are dressed in white and pink clothing with floral accents. Conta Boehme shield mark to base and what looks like the numbers 1441 on each and a 0. They are in excellent condition the only thing I can see is a firing crack to the left side of her dress. Quite heavy and great quality pieces. Approximately 6 inches tall and 2 1/2 inches wide at the base. They could also use a good cleaning. I will leave that to their new owner. Continental Antique German Figurine GROUP CONTA BOEHME Porcelain Rare TEA PARTY
This auction is for a Rare Continental, German CONTA BOEHME group FIGURINE. Conta Boehme made this basic figural group design with a number of themes ie. chess. Cards and in this case tea party. The figurine is made of a thick rich porcelain and is notably heavy with the piece weighing 740 grams. The figure stands approximately 4 1/2 inches in height and 6 1/8 inches in length. The bottom of the figure has the incised or impressed mark"IV" and the number 3318? not sure if the second number is a 2 or 3 and if the third number is 1 or 4) During my research. I found this piece to be one of the Conta Boehme figures regarded as to be"painted with the same excellence as Meissen" I also found that. Beautiful Antique Piano Baby Porcelain Bisque c1900. Appears to be Conta Boehme, Germany, in excellent condition. There is a small scuff mark on the big toe and on the bottom of the legs as shown in the photos. Also, there is a smooth spot under the right arm that appears to have been repaired. It is hard to see when the baby is sitting, only noticeable when turned over, this is shown in the photos. The last photo shows some discoloration marks on the inside of the fold of the left arm. The Last in Bed to Put Out the Light" Welcome to my auction! For your consideration is a lovely Victorian porcelain Fairing"The Last in Bed to Put Out the Light" Hand painted. Made in Germany during the mid-to-late 19th century, most likely by Conta& Boehme. There is an impressed number"2851" on the underside with a couple of other number markings. The base measures approximately 3 x 3.5 inches(7 x 8.5 cm) Stands at almost 3.5 inches(8.5 cm) tall. The weight is nice and heavy at about 12.4 ounces. Although this is a very common fairing, this is a very good, old example. Good Antique Condition: No chips or cracks. The candle is intact on this piece(these were very often deliberately broken off during the Victorian period) But I am not sure if it has had a repair or not. This is a pretty hand painted porcelain trinket box from Conta& Boehme. The lid depicts 2 roosters in front of a fence and 2 chicks in front of them. The trinket box is trimmed in gold. It is in excellent condition. The inside of the lid has the Conta shield( Thuringia. Germany) impressed numbers and a word I am assuming is Germany. I could not get the markings to show up in photos, it was too shiny with glare. There is also a gold marking on the bottom. It measures about 4" high and 3.5" wide. Conte and Boehme Antique Porcelain Figurine
This auction is for a very old porcelain figurine of a colonial man. This figurine stands approximately 7" tall and is about 3.25" X 4.25" at the base. It is in overall good condition for its age. There is a firing crack on the inside of the base that does not come through to the outside. Most of the golden paint has been lost and there are two small black dots, most likely firing defects, one by his left foot and a smaller one on his back. There are no other defects that I could find. It has a Conte and Boehme mark at the bottom of the base and number 8. Please see pictures for more details. Thank you for viewing this auction. Pair Old Vintage Victorian Porcelain Conta & Boehme Fairings Girls Baskets Sgd
Up for consideration is an old pair of Conta and Boehme fairings. We are first thought them to be match holders/strikers. But there just isn't any area coarse enough to get enough friction to light a match. The each measure about 3 3/4" and are marked on the bottom with the shield/arm mark, and some numbers. One has small loss in that her scoop is gone, and the other has a small loss to her bow on her back. Add a small nick to the base on one of them, and they are otherwise terrific, with no other issues to speak of. I'm embarrassed to admit it, but these belonged to my grandmother, and after spotting them wrapped in the basement, I decided it was time to let another family enjoy them. This antique porcelain fairing is most likely from the victorian era in which they were prizes given at fairs. This is most likely from between 1800- 1849 due to the 4 didgit# located on the base and no shield and dagger mark. It is at least likely during the 19th century. The fairing is very good condition. Most of the detail is still there but there is some wear. There is no visible damage. The caption is"The last in bed to put out the light" The#s on the base is 2851 and#57 aswell as a written 134. A lot of two 19thC hard paste porcelain figurines. Hunting men or gamekeepers in 18thC costume. The figurines are basically the same though differently coloured: crops and pose are identical, some difference are caused by the applied parts like arms and sword. One holds a hare, the other a bird. They are probably made by Conta& Boehme in Pössneck Thüringen Germany, founded in 1790: They are numbered in the style this firm did: I-1348, one with an impressed 33, the other one with a red painted 75, but no shield. Antique 1840's Victorian fairing figurine is 3 1/4" long x 2" wide x 3 1/8" tall. This figurine features the couple with light colored hair which doesnt seem as common as the dark hair couple. There is a note taped to the base where someone had indicated this is a rare size but Im not an expert and cannot validate that statement. I kept the note because of the written by what looks like the handwriting of an elderly person"To Martin. I cant make out the rest of the words but thought it was sweet. There are surface chips under the base so I took a couple photo's for review. Figurine bears the shield and dagger impression along with the mold mark 2851. This lovely hand painted porcelain antique was made by Conta Boehme and is marked Made in Germany in green under the glaze on the bottom. This particular mark was used by Conta& Boehme after 1921. This porcelain match holder and striker is of two little girls with hats. One is standing and wearing Papas new hat. The other girl is sitting on a hat. Hopefully the old hat. The match holder is a tree trunk behind the girls and the striker is on the back of the trunk. It is in excellent condition with the exception of a very small chip on the top edge of the match holder on the back. The words on the front below the girls are"PAPAS NEW HT" The A is missing in the word HAT. Please refer to pictures. It has very nice detail and color. Hugging Angels Cherubs Porcelain Shoe Watch Holder Bow Slipper Conte & Boehme
Offering a Conta and Boehme Hugging Angels watch holder porcelain shoe made in Germany circa the 1890s. Measures 6" long and 5 1/4" high. A green and black high heeled slipper on a tasseled pillow with two cherubs nestled on a blue and white toe bow. One cherub has pink wings. The other has blue. Hand painted with lovely detailing in the angels' faces, on the bow and toe of the shoe. The pillow has a burgundy top and white ruffle and tassels. Glossy finish on the shoe and pillow. Very sweet. No maker's mark. Some incised numbers or marks underneath. The female angel's wing has been broken off and reattached. See pics. Also. Where the watch hook would have originally been has been plastered and repainted. One nick out of the paint on the black heel. A few stray marks, paint or? Otherwise, very nice with bright paint.
