Pair of 19th Century Man and Woman Ceramic Figurines 19" Tall Marked 1883
I am offering this pair of Ceramic Figurines from the 19th Century. They have 1883 written on the bottom of them. Which I feel to be fairly accurate. The Male figure is 19" tall, and the Female is 18 1/2" Tall. I have taken pics of all of the areas on these that are issues. Could use restoration to make them perfect. Female figure is in much better condition than the Male one. They are also in need of a cleaning. Lots of dust from years of display. I will shipped these bubble wrapped and packed in peanuts. This is a stunning pair of porcelain and brass electric figural table lamps. They are made with beautifully painted porcelain figures which have great detailing and rich color. they are done by hand. Are very detailed with a high gloss finish, and sit on a very detailed filigree brass bases. they have nice brass roped shafts that curve over the figure and hold the generic sized light socket. They both work great and each measures 15 3/4 inches tall by 5 inches wide. in nice shape. Lovely Courting Dancing Couple Dresden Lace Porcelain Figurines or CapoDiMonte
What a beautiful couple these two fine porcelain figurines are! They are dressed in costumes from the late 1700's to early 1800's. In the European manner. He is bowing to her and she is acknowledging this attention with a slight curtsy. What is fascinating is that each has gray hair. I'd like to think of them as celebrating their 25th or maybe their 50th wedding anniversary. They have matching garments with the beautifully hand painted cobalt blue. Gold and white print. He has an overcoat in cobalt blue trimmed with gold, a lace ascot, and shoes with bows, which enrobes his waistcoat, done in the beautiful blue, gold and white handpainted print, bordered with a medium green color. A bit of the lace peeks out from his coat sleeves. His graying hair is pulled back into a ponytail and cinched with a bow. His long fingers are outstretched ... morewith palms up as if to say, Your Grace, may I have this dance? She has the large. Poufy, tiered full length Dresden lace skirt with matching lace at the cuffs of her elbow sleeve bodice. There is a tiny pink rose in her cleavage. Her hair is in an updo plaited with a lavender,white and gold hair ornament. Her graceful hands are positioned as if she is pulling up the lace in order to curtsy. Her tiny feet are in ruby slippers which have a gold colored ornament on the front of each. She, too, has tiny flowers at her feet. The gentleman is about 5" tall and he stands on a base which is about 1.75" in diameter. The Lady is almost 5.5" tall and she stands on a base that is about 2.25"x about 2" Condition: The gentleman is in excellent condition. Please have a look at the way his hands are done- you can see each finger clearly. The detail is astounding. The lady is also in generally excellent condition. The only flaws are a bit of her lace skirt. About 1/8" in diameter is missing on the top skirt on her right hand side in the back and to her left. RARE PAIR OF ANTIQUE ROYAL WORCESTER 17" FIGURES AFTER JAMES HADLEY CIRCA1880's Size: 17" to 17.5" tall(he is a little taller than her) base is 7" x 7" An impressive pair of Royal Worcester porcelain figures. late 19thc. after the model by James Hadley. One is modelled as a woman holding a basket wearing a floral dress and the other is a young fisherman wearing clogs and holding a basket. Worcester pattern# 67079. Printed 1202 on both bases with other potter's numbers. These were made into lamps in the 60's and I have removed those fixtures from the base. As a result there is a small hole in the base(showing one) Not a big deal. The statues themselves look very good overall. The boy appears to have some old professional restoration around his leg and arm/basket area. At least the discoloration in those ... moreareas may suggest that. I am selling as best described. The girl appears to be fine. They are both dirty as this is the way I bought them from the estate in Nicholasville. Ky. Offered is a large Volkstedt Dresden Lace porcelain dancing couple candelabra. This is a large candelabra measuring at approximately 10.5 inches in height and approximately 10” side to side. There are 3 candle holders. This beautiful candelabra bears the MV Crown Mark of Volkstedt Muller and dates this piece to 1907– 1949. It has wonderful detail and is in VG condition given its age and fragility. With losses to the lace as shown but with no apparent losses to the porcelain that I can see. CONDITION: The overall condition is excellent for such a vintage and delicate piece. The woman has lost the tip of her pinkie finger. Otherwise there are losses to the lace as shown. One of the candle holders is not permanently attached as the others are. It appears the peg of the candleholder has been broken and repaired. The candle holder now sits in ... morethe arm receiver. These two large antique Rudolstadt figurines of a boy and a girl are very special and beautiful. The boy is holding a toy boat and the girl is holding a baby. Both of them are beautifully dressed in Victorian type attire. The faces and the posture of the figurines are very pleasant and calming. They are modeled and painted exceptionally well. The boy's left forearm has some discoloring and losses of gold gilding. Also the boy's base is a little chipped(see pictures) Beside that overall condition is good. Fabric cone, that gives her dress fullness; but, I do not know if she actually has legs. Inside. Her bouquet is intact and matches the floral decoration, on her bodice. Groom: His period attire is wonderfully detailed. Too with silk breeches, matching long vest. Coat, and cravat. He has bisque lower legs, with painted shoes. Their faces are spectacular in the quality of the bisque and facial painting. Both have tiny glass eyes, upper/lower painted lashes. Painted brows, blushed cheeks, painted lips, nostril dots, mohair wigs. And very fine modeling. I have not disturbed their clothing, to look for a mark; but. They are obviously French, in origin, to me. Each bisque doll stands 7" tall. A wonderful and rare addition to any Antique Doll Collection. This is a stunning antique porcelain and brass electric figural table lamp. It is made with beautifully painted porcelain figurines which have great detailing and rich color. they are done by hand. Are very detailed with a high gloss finish, and they stand on a very detailed filigree brass bases. They are depicted dancing hand and hand on a grass circular base. they have nice brass roped shafts that curve over the figure and hold the generic sized light socket. This is a vintage ceramic figural group lamp. Man and Woman lovers sitting together with basket of roses and Lamb. looks to be hand painted with gold trim. Porcelain figure is about 8" high top of lamp is about 15" high, base is 7" wide, 6" deep. Wire and light fixtrue are in good condition, wire and socket seem to have been replaced. On the bottom, Germany is etched with what looks to be the number 771. above it. Its hard to read the number, it may be something slightly different. its hard to get a good picture of it. Rare Occupied Japan Glazed Penny Doll Figurine 2 3/4 in Girl Violin Green Dress
2 5/8 inch figurine or penny doll of a little girl in a green dress playing her violin. During the year after WWII. Japanese manufactures were banned from exporting- although American authorities who occupied controlled territories permitted the sale of items"Made in Occupied Japan" that were regulated through the years 1946 and 1947. This sweet little piece measures 2 5/8" high.
