I checked and ... moreit is water tight and the handle is also nice and tight. The top is marked with a#8. Holds approx one gallon. There are areas of wear and markings on this can but I think it just adds to it's character. Take a look at the pictures and ask all questions before bidding. It is 12" tall to top of handle and is 7 1/2" in diameter. This watering can comes with two sprinkler heads. Both having the remnants of the original red and green paint. Both heads fit the spout. One sprinkler is about 3 1/2" in diameter and the other is 2 3/4" in diameter. I will mention that when pouring water through the sprinkler heads water does drip through the screw fitting area. It does not affect the way the water comes through the head. I tried to show a picture of how both heads pour. If you look close you will see it is not a perfect shower but not so bad that you drench the flower pot.

This is a Antique Deming Co. cast iron hand operated water pump. Made in Salem Ohio. Is numbered C7 on the handle and 2 on the top. and the handle. The handle does go up and down. It does have 2 cracks you could see them on last 3 pictures. I have never try it so im not sure if it does work. Antique Cast Iron Hayes Pump & Planter Co Galva IL Farm Water Well Pump Hit Miss
Up for bids at auction: Up for bids is this antique cast iron. Hayes Pump& Planter Co. Well Pump. This old pump is in good condition and was found at an old farm estate in Central Iowa where the pump had been sitting unused on an old well for many years. As you can see in the pictures, the pump is marked with raised, embossed lettering that reads, MF’D BY HAYES PUMP& PLANTER CO. on both sides of the body ~“GALVA, ILL. U.S.A. on both sides of the spout and“HAYES GALVA, ILL. on the base as well as having embossed part numbers on the various pieces of the pump. The handle raises, lowers and works just as it should and the pump could easily be reconditioned to pump water. It appears to have been repainted silver a long time ago with the paint worn thin or entirely away in some places. The pump is just as I found it with an old repair ... moreon the neck and a place on one side of the base that does not extend as high up as the other side. Both of these points are easily overlooked and did not prevent the pump for being used. As you can see in the pictures. The old water pipe extends below the base roughly six inches- Most of the time this would be cut off. However if you’re looking for a pump to use as décor. Just push that section of pipe in the ground or use it as an anchor if you cement in into place. Either way. It won’t go anywhere and no additional work will be needed. If you want to cut the pipe off. It can easily be done. Overall height from the base to the top of pump. Excluding the water pipe that goes below the base, is roughly 42 inches. Just a nice old. Hard to find pump for the collection or for use. Please refer to the pictures and feel free to email with any questions. The markings I could find were McDonald and Debuque. I unsure if it is in working condition. It could be the handle appears to move up and down pretty freely. Vintage Antique Large Green Tole Paint Metal Garden Flower Water Watering Can
This was discovered in a very old Thousand Islands camp estate and I immediately fell in love! This quaint early watering can is a large 16" tall with the hinged top handle in an upward position. It is 9" in diameter at the base and from the outer side handle to the end of the spout spans 16" The tole can is painted in a earthy green and has a portrayal of cat tails on both sides in wonderful detail. Even the shadows cast by the cat tails and leaves is depicted giving the painting a three dimensional look. Both handles and the top and bottom of the main portion of the can are accented with black pin striping. The top handle is hinged on each side to that it can be raised or laid down on the upper rim. The outer handle has a hollow grip and a thumb rest. The spout has a right angled end. This can has seen many. Many years of ... moreuse and all of it added to it's charm. There is dents, dings, pitting and rust. The rust is most notably on the very bottom(see pic) It will NOT hold water as there is a rather large hole in that bottom. The side and spout appear to be fine. Still, this is such an attractive old piece it would make a lovely ornament in a garden. Use it as a flower pot or set other objects in it for display! The trough is in very nice condition and has a drain hole in the bottom side, there was another drain hole in the bottom middle but has been plugged as seen in the pictures. We occasionally find more these but they are becoming quite scarce. Originally used on farms for feeding animals. Antique McDonald well water pump manufactured in Dubuque. Iowa. This is in extremely good condition! Missing one square nut and that bolt is stripped but can be replaced easily. Pump has been inside our home since it was built in 1900. It was used for cistern water in our basement. I cut the supply pipe off on the bottom and if you want to actually use it. You would need to heat that up with a torch to remove the pipe. All of the other nuts and bolts cam loose without effort. No cracks or chips in this pump. It has spent it's life in our basement. I have wire brushed most of all the paint. Will ship same or next day in a very secured bubble wrapped box! Sent USPS insured.
