I have seen many flower frogs but none as unique as this one I found at an estate sale. It is what I believe to be a Koi fish. It measures 10" from mouth to tail and is almost 3" tall at the highest point and weighs 2 lbs. There is a patent# and it states made in Japan. This has been painted a gold color. Description This unusual and rare antique flower frog would have been used to create a beautiful floral arrangement. Vintage flower frogs are very popular and still used today. This one dates to c1920. The top wire is in a star shape. The others are circles to hold the flower stems. The wires can be bent to allow flowers to rest in any direction. The heavy cast metal base holds the flowers securely. These frogs will fit in the bottom of any bowl or vase that is more than 4" diameter. This auction is for a lot of 3 antique wire baskets. They each have a metal tag on the front with a number. These particular ones have the numbers 129. 43, and 151. They were from a public pool house in the Chicago land area, I was told. They each measure approx. 18.5 by 11.5 by just under 8 inches tall. Vintage Antique Large Green Tole Paint Metal Garden Flower Water Watering Can
This was discovered in a very old Thousand Islands camp estate and I immediately fell in love! This quaint early watering can is a large 16" tall with the hinged top handle in an upward position. It is 9" in diameter at the base and from the outer side handle to the end of the spout spans 16" The tole can is painted in a earthy green and has a portrayal of cat tails on both sides in wonderful detail. Even the shadows cast by the cat tails and leaves is depicted giving the painting a three dimensional look. Both handles and the top and bottom of the main portion of the can are accented with black pin striping. The top handle is hinged on each side to that it can be raised or laid down on the upper rim. The outer handle has a hollow grip and a thumb rest. The spout has a right angled end. This can has seen many. Many years of ... moreuse and all of it added to it's charm. There is dents, dings, pitting and rust. The rust is most notably on the very bottom(see pic) It will NOT hold water as there is a rather large hole in that bottom. There are four tiny pinholes are edge of bottom, so this could not hold water. There are two seams on this bucket that run from top to bottom. Top edge is rolled/folded over.
