Antique Cast Iron Leader Hay Trolley Unloader Carrier Old Farm Tool Pat. 1889
I am listing a beautiful cast iron Leader hay trolley or unloader in excellent condition. It was manufactured in the late 1800's has a patent in raiswd letters on one side. This trolley has not been repainted but has been cleaned and give a coat of clear laquer. The cast iron polished up rea nice and has a beautiful patina. A lot of these old hay trolleys are absolute works of art. This one included. If your looking for a standout display piece you might want to consider this one. It is 17 1/2" long x 12 1/2" x 7" wide. Both sheaves and all 4 trolley wheels turn smoothly. There are no breaks or repairs. Hay trolleys are a great representation of early life on the farm and are very collectable. Antique Cast Iron Hayes Pump & Planter Co Galva IL Farm Water Well Pump Hit Miss
Up for bids at auction: Up for bids is this antique cast iron. Hayes Pump& Planter Co. Well Pump. This old pump is in good condition and was found at an old farm estate in Central Iowa where the pump had been sitting unused on an old well for many years. As you can see in the pictures, the pump is marked with raised, embossed lettering that reads, MF’D BY HAYES PUMP& PLANTER CO. on both sides of the body ~“GALVA, ILL. U.S.A. on both sides of the spout and“HAYES GALVA, ILL. on the base as well as having embossed part numbers on the various pieces of the pump. The handle raises, lowers and works just as it should and the pump could easily be reconditioned to pump water. It appears to have been repainted silver a long time ago with the paint worn thin or entirely away in some places. The pump is just as I found it with an old repair ... moreon the neck and a place on one side of the base that does not extend as high up as the other side. Both of these points are easily overlooked and did not prevent the pump for being used. As you can see in the pictures. The old water pipe extends below the base roughly six inches- Most of the time this would be cut off. However if you’re looking for a pump to use as décor. Just push that section of pipe in the ground or use it as an anchor if you cement in into place. Either way. It won’t go anywhere and no additional work will be needed. If you want to cut the pipe off. It can easily be done. Overall height from the base to the top of pump. Excluding the water pipe that goes below the base, is roughly 42 inches. Just a nice old. Hard to find pump for the collection or for use. Please refer to the pictures and feel free to email with any questions. Antique Forged Iron Farm Garden Row Stake Pole Tool Plant Rope Guide primitive I believe these are antique garden stakes or poles used to make straight planting rows in the garden. The forged iron stakes were used by a real English gardener on a wealthy estate in New Jersey during approx. 1940s-60s. The estate featured a farm and employed a blacksmith for decades. Therefore most likely these were forged on the farm at some point. Both stakes feature a spear at the bottom, one having an"eye" at the top and the other a"grid" to wrap the rope around- the grid is free to spin around, making winding up the rope easy. The simple stake measures 26" long and the larger one measures 28" long. The rope may be original, however I'm not certain. Great antique/vintage metal bucket with awesome blue paint. Wonderful patina with rust. Scuffs, marks, etc typical of age and use. Measures 8 7/8" tall x 5 3/4" at bottom and 6 3/4" at top. There are four tiny pinholes are edge of bottom, so this could not hold water. There are two seams on this bucket that run from top to bottom. Top edge is rolled/folded over. There is a round opening on one side near top(about 1/4" around) making me wonder if this was possibly use to hang on a tree and collect sap? Here is a cast iron wagon/farm implement wheel. Great and popular for use as vintage yard and garden outdoor decorations. I have two of these available. You are buying one, put"2" in the quanity box if you want both of them. It is about 22 1/2 inch diameter. A big one. It has 11 spokes. 3" wide ground contact of rim. Cast iron. Heavy and sturdy made. Weighs about 31 pounds. Nice solid ornate decorative hub. Cast iron hub is bored for a 1 3/8" inch axle. Nice aged appearance. Has rust overall. It has some heavy rust from sitting in the dirt in the area where three spokes connect to the outer rim. Not rusted all the way thru, still fully sound but some rusted out chips. This is a hard object to describe but will do my best.found at a tool sale this is a rusty piece of metal farm equipment or tool of some kind. It has three legs with screws and bolts and a large heavy spring type thing which is 4 inches with a valve screw part on the end. This measures 14 x 9 1/2 inches overall and is heavy.This could be a great steam punk lamp base or anything your imagination can create. It is solid and has a great rusty patina. Description Vintage handforged garden rake. This is the first one that I have ever seen. It took a lot of time to make this piece. Note that some of the inner teeth are loose but still firmly attached to the rake body. Quite the unique piece.
