Japanese Meiji Cloisonne Teaset Teapot Cups Saucers Tray Tea Set C 1880
Fabulous Cloisonne teaset circa 1880 consists of a teapot. Cream sugar, 2 cups and saucers and a tray Tray is a generous 12" x 9 1/2" The color is a tad bit darker blue in person. It would be what we can a navy blue. The set is in excellent condition with only a few very minor issues. See photos for details) There is a little bit of wear to the outside bottom of the tray.very minor If you look inside the lids there is flaking which is often seen on antique pieces. The metal changes color and may have had a silver plate at one point and it also showing copper and brass: pretty normal for a piece of this age. Antique Japanese Cloisonne Footed Teapot With Lid, Circa 1900, Bronze
Antique Japanese Cloisonne Footed Teapot With Lid. Circa 1900, Bronze Teapot measures approximately 5 1/2"D x 3"W x 4 1/2"H. Teapot appears to be made of bronze and has three feet underneath. Lid has a knob that is attached vie a handmade square nut inside. A majority of the cloisonne is a translucent green that has cut metal foil inside it. Cloisonne is beautifully done in many colors with flowers and butterflies. There are some bubbles in the cloisonne and a couple of small dings underneath. The three feet are not equal. So the teapot tilts forward just a bit. There is some minor cracking to the cloisonne on the handle where the handle meets the pot itself. No maker markings. Antique Miniature Ginbari Japanese Cloisonne Teapot Phoenix Flowers Butterflies
This is one of the nicest pieces of antique Japanese Ginbari Cloisonne that I have seen in a long time. I love this style of Cloisonne with its use of metallic foil which gleams. This miniature Teapot has the most ornate floral design with LOTS of butterflies flitting amongst them. It is hard to make out. Amongst all the other detail, but there is also a Phoenix appearing on one side of the teapot. The colours are also exquisite. The dark rust coloured ground, really makes the designs"pop" An incredible amount of work must have gone into this piece, given its small size and the intricacy of the design. Overall in excellent antique condition. No chips or dents, which is very unusual for this type of piece. Small ribbed finial tops the lid. Even the spout is decorated at the base. Antique Japanese Cloisonne Teapot C. 1900-10 Takahara Komajiro Studio Flowers
Beautiful cloisonné enamel and wirework in the Kyoto style with green enamel background. Gilt-wire decoration of chrysanthemums, butterflies, flowers, wheels, etc. on this marked example of a Japanese teapot. Takahara Komajiro was one of the first cloisonné masters to sign his own work. This piece bears the mark. But is probably a bit later and from the Japanese Cloisonne Teapot C. 1900-10 A teapot in the style of the traditional Japanese iron teapot called tetsubin. A squat form with the straight out spout and the hinged handle. This piece bears the mark of the Takahara Komakichi studio. Most likely from early 20th century, about 1900-1910. The mark is a number 3 figure on top of a B like character impressed within a circle. Condition is good antique with some scale or calcium deposits on the green enamel interior and the inside ... moreof the spout. Minor wear to the gilded surfaces, and the handle has some skips to the enamel. It was most likely pushed out of round at some point and straightened resulting in losses. The random white spots are reflections of the light on the goldstone surface. It is in very nice antique condition. We have tried to show everything in the photos. Antique Japanese Cloisonne Lidded Mini Teapot w/Floral Design
For sale is a Japanese Cloisonne mini teapot. Fine little lidded pot. Japanese cloisonne in a traditional style with black enamel coil wire background. Those circles of various sizes with florals are very traditional in Japan, circles were used often in designs and to form each family's clan symbol for centuries, they are called mon. This pot has been described as a mini teapot. Sauce pot or sake pot. It is missing the finial which would be a small brass chrysantemum bloom. The teapot stands 3 3/4" tall. Base diameter 1 1/2" roughly widest diameter 2 1/2" and weighs about half a pound. It is unmarked and aside from the missing finnial is in good condition with no large flaws like cracks, chips, or dents. Allow for some patina and mild staining from age and handling. Japanese Cloisonne on Banko teapot unique but as is
Banko brown ware teapot covered in cloisonne! I have never seen another one in 35 years of collecting Japanese cloisonne. It is far from perfect. But displays well, if you want a one-of-a-kind study piece for your cloisonne collection or your Banko collection. All pieces are here. This is a hand formed Banko teapot with handle at right angle to spout. The end of the handle has a loop. This was done just to show off the potter's skill. Handle is hollow, and has been broken and glued back on. Glue looks old. Also the lid has been glued back together. The spinning finial still works. Spinning finials were also done c. 1890's to 1900 to show off the potter's skill. What is peculiar and unique here is that wires have been applied and enamel has been applied, as in the first steps in making cloisonne. The enamel is not filled up to ... morecapacity as in a finished piece. Decoration on one side is floral as we see in cloisonne on pottery from 1890's. The rest of it is abstract, random shapes, as if being purely experimental. The wire work is not the greatest, but then again, who has seen another one? Possibly experimental, possibly unique. I had this in my Japanese cloisonne collection as an item of interest. Certainly is! Even though it is"as is" it can still be appreciated, handled and displayed well. Antique Japanese Goldstone Cloisonne Enamel Teapot ca: 1920's Butterflies Flowers This beautiful little teapot is a delight to behold. These teapots are very collectible, and each one has its own personality. This particular one is covered with butterflies and flowers. It's in good condition for its age with a few things to point out. It appears that the handle took a blow and the point where the upper part is attached shows some loss of black enamel. Then there is a fine crack coming out from this. There is a bit of loss to the goldstone panel close to this area. Then the knob on the lid is somewhat loose and needs to be tightened. But it's not necessary. None of these things show much. And I've yet to see a perfect old cloisonne piece due to the nature of the enamel and its imperfections. Lg.Early Japanese Cloisonne Teapot w/Imperial Dragon NR
Early unusually large Japanese teapot depicting the imperial dragon and pheasant. It stands about 7 1/2in. to the top of the finial on top and is very well done with lots of goldstone, the pot itself is in good condition with no dents or losses that I can see, there is however repair to the handle and the spout and I've tried to take photos of both of them so you can see it, ther are no marks on the piece but as usual it's almost impossible to find a perfect piece of early cloisonne this one does display well, if you collect early cloisonne this is a very nice example and is guaranteed to be an early example.

This amazing Japanese Cloisonne teapot has been in my collection for at least 20 years. It was purchased in an antique shop from a dealer who specializes in Asian antiques. This is a Museum quality piece. The primary design is a three-toed dragon(on the front) and five-toed(on the back) with a beautiful array of flowers and medallions all around. There are a lot of copper speckles in the design and various bright metallic foils. It is impossible to describe the variety of shapes of cloisons but suffice it to say. There are MANY. There are brass or bronze feet and the finial is the same with a stippled center. The inside is a very dark green enamel. Measurements: approx. 5" finial to feet. 8" spout to handle. Condition: Little roughness on the lid(no cloisons missing) some roughness around the spout. And on the bottom near one of ... morethe white petals. There is a small area that looks like it was part of the manufacturing process- not bad for its age. Otherwise. It is lovely. The spout area seems to be where the spout was attached. This beautiful teapot is in perfect condition. No dents, scratches and missing enamel. Notice the delicate spout and unusual curvy design of the handle. The color is two shades of dark blue, and it is so subtle it does not really photograph very well, but it does have a floral pattern on it. The inside is a light turquoise. Lovely Small Antique Japanese Cloisonne Teapot - Golden Age - Meiji
This auction is for a beautiful. Small antique Japanese cloisonne teapot with lid. The teapot is classic Japanese cloisonne from the Meiji Golden Age of Cloisonne(1868-1912) The beautiful array of colors in the design stand out nicely against dark blue background. There is a profusion of flowers along with butterflies and classic Japanese design motifs. Beautiful flecks of goldstone really catch the light and identify this piece as being from the Golden Age. The diaper on the lid matches the diaper at the top of the teapot. The inside of the lid and the teapot are coated with blue enamel. Cloisonne is an ancient metal working technique where enamel or glass is inlaid in a flattened wire design on top of metal. So the unseen base of the teapot is metal as is the visible bottom. Trim and finial. There is some very minor pitting as is common ... morein cloisonne of this age. I did not find any loss of enamel although there could be tiny spots. The finial is a bit loose which is common on lids of this age. This results in the finial sometimes tilting a little when on top of the teapot. It might be possible to tighten the final from underneath the lid but I'm not certain. When I ran my fingers over the teapot. There was a very small spot that was a little rough and not easy to see. It might be corrision from the wires, a rub spot or a speck of something on the cloisonné. There are no damages or repairs to the teapot. Overall, the teapot is in excellent condition with expected wear due to age. Weight: 198.6 grams or 7.0 oz. Lovely Small Antique Japanese Cloisonne Teapot- Golden Age- Meiji This auction is for a beautiful. Small antique Chinese, Japan cloisonne teapot with lid. The teapot is classic Japanese cloisonne from the Meiji Golden Age of Cloisonne(1868-1912) The beautiful array of colors in the design stand out nicely against dark blue background. There is a profusion of flowers along with classic Japanese design motifs. The rim on the lid matches the rim at the top of the teapot. The inside of the lid and the teapot are coated with green enamel but it shows blue in the photos. There are 3 small feet on the bottom. Cloisonne is an ancient metal working technique where enamel or glass is inlaid in a flattened wire design on top of metal. So the unseen base of the teapot is metal as is the trim and finial. There is some very minor pitting as is common in ... morecloisonne of this age. I did not find any loss of enamel although there could be tiny spots. The finial is a bit loose which is common on lids of this age. This results in the finial sometimes tilting a little when on top of the teapot. It might be possible to tighten the final from underneath the lid but I'm not certain. When I ran my fingers over the teapot. There are some small spots that are tiny chips, they not easy to see. Overall, the teapot is in excellent condition with expected wear due to age. And is in excellent condition. There are no dents, dings, or missing cloisonne with the possible exception of a small area just underneath the tip of the tea pot mouth(as shown) I believe this occurred when the piece was made, and is not damage per se. Also, there is some minor roughness on the handle, and a small gap where the metal was bent together to form the spout. These"flaws" appear to be part of how the piece was made, and are difficult to detect. They are all clearly pictured to the best of my ability. Cloisonne Teapot Footed Flowers Japanese Meiji Antique
This antique cloisonné teapot is about 3-3/4" high including the finial. 5-1/4" wide. The pot sits on three little feet. There are eight ovals in navy blue with various flowers around the pot, and there is a band around the center with sparkles. The colors are darker and more muted than they appear in the photos. The pot is Japanese from the Meiji Era, c. 1868-1912. The condition is generally good for a piece of its age, no dents. There is the usual minor pitting throughout and a little roughness in the cloisonné where the spout joins the body, quite minor. Payment is due within two days of the auction. This antique Japanese miniature cloisonné teapot is covered all over with flowers and butterflies. The delicately colored and shaded butterflies are on a background of deep royal blue over foil. And the flowers are on a background of emerald green over foil. The finial is an artichoke. The pot is 3-1/2" high including the finial, 4-3/4" wide. It dates to the Meiji Era, c. 1868-1912. Antique Japanese Meiji Cloisonne Miniature Teapot Goldstone Phoenix Butterfly
This auction is for a nice antique Japanese miniature teapot. There is a blue medallion on each side; one with a phoenix and another with a group of butterflies. The remainder of the pot has a green ground with flower designs. The underside has a gold/tan colored ground with a cloud diaper. A single white flower in the middle, and a border of burgundy scales before returning to the green body. It is flecked with goldstone, has three brass feet and the classic blue enamel interior. The lid is missing. There is a chip to the cloisonne under the phoenix and another chip on the border of the medallion with the butterflies, and there is the usual age-related spotting/pitting to some of the cloisonne, but the pot is otherwise fully intact and displays nicely. Measures 4" long from spout to handle and 2" tall.
