2 PRIMITIVE LARGE FANCY BLACKSMITH MADE BARN DOOR HINGES ((MUST SEE))
Up for auction we have 2 outstanding fancy primitive blacksmith made barn door mounting hinges! Lets start with the measurements. The hinges differ slightly in length, the longest hinge measure 41 inches in length, the other hinge measures 40 inches in length. The end holes where the hinges sat on the mounting pintils measure 5/8ths of an inch, inside diameter. The 3 main mounting holes on each hinge measure 7/16ths. The width at the hinges widest point measures 2 inches. The thickness of the hinges measures about 7/16 ths. at the mounting pintil end and about a 1/4 inch thick near the hooked end.these hinges are heavy duty! The stand alone weight of both hinges is 12 lbs. 2 ozs.As you can see from the photos the iron is pitted from age, I cleaned these hinges with a wire brush and then clear sprayed the hinges with enamel. Heres a pair of neat antique barn door hinges to re-use or repurpose. Large in size 20" long. Embossed Pat. Apr.17 1900. Great overall Patina. The bands take a magnet(steel) but the brackets do not. I assume probably brass. I do not see any damage or repairs. One cotter pin is missing and you may need to use some w-d 40 to get the pins out. This is a Pair of Hand Forged Barn Door Hinges. About 21" long. 1 1/2" wide. They have a pair of Hinge pins that may or may not be the original pins. They fit really nice together. The length of the bolt is about 7 1/2" x 1/2" Everything is in good shape. Bore a hole in the post or beam and hang on door.
