AUTHENTIC CHAMBER POT JH WEATHERBY & SONS ENGLAND CIRCA 1900 w/o LID
The J.H. Weatherby& Sons(Ltd) A family-run company was founded in Tunstall in 1891 and moved to Hanley the following year. Named'Falcon Pottery' it was the base for their manufacturing and trading of earthenware, and was one of a number of similar potteries in Stoke on-Trent. It first made domestic ware such as printed toilet sets. Trinket sets, vases, teapots, tableware and tableware fancies, jugs, fern pots and lidded chamber pots. Soon after World War I, Weatherby began to supply advertising ware to hotels and caterers and later to hospitals and institutions. In the 1920s and 1930s it experimented with modernist matt glazes and introduced Art Deco-style vases, tableware and fancies. The manufacturer's"DURABILITY" mark on the bottom tells us this particular chamber pot was made after 1892 in Hanley. England. This ... morestamp was used from 1892-1924, but the introduction of indoor toilets gradually replaced chamber pots. There is a hairline crack from the rim about half way down into the vessel. This crack hasn't expanded. And as long as the buyer doesn't plan on using it for its original intended purpose, this shouldn't be a problem. The inside bottom is pitted and the glazing shows its true age. It really is remarkable that items as fragile as this have survived more than 100 years. This pot has no lid. But chamber pot lids seem to be a collectible, and currently there are many available on ebay that might fit this pot. I've taken photos of the handle to show that is has not been repaired or replaced. I displayed this for several years in a guest room that was also decorated in turn of the century Victorian. Guests and friends were intrigued. As few among us can say they have actually seen an authentic chamber pot.

Charming Chamber Pot England Antique J W Pankhurst Co
Some people collect figurines. Others collect Chamber Pots. So for those of you interested in Chamber Pots, this one is a beaut! It of course is very vintage or antique more likely. It comes from J.W. Pankhurst& Co. in Hanley, England. It is made of Stone China with a lovely adornment on the handle and on the piece where the handle attaches, no chips, cracks, or crazing. There are a few little dark marks in the glaze and some fine scratches in the bottom inside. It is 6" tall and the diameter at the top is 8 3/4" The bottom has the hallmark and reads Stone China, J.W. Pankhurst& Co. Hanley, England. You won't be disappointed with this fine treasure. For your consideration today is a wonderful blue and white ironstone pottery chamber pot with lid. This pot was produced by the John Maddock& Sons Potteries. Staffordshire England. It is true vintage and in excellent condition overall with no chips or cracks- there is fine crazing all over but the shiny glaze on the pot and lid is still very nice. This chamber pot retains its original lid. The lid and single pot handle are enhanced by a leaf and vine motif molded into the pot. The blue bands on the lid and pot are surrounded by a fine line of goldtone highlights. This pot is approx 8 inches tall at the top of the lid knob. Diameter of the pot is approx 8 inches, 10 inches across at the single handle. Very attractive and collectible, this would be a fine addition to your blue and white or ironstone collection. Up for auction is a great piece of American history. This Chamber pot was made in Bristol England by Pountney& Co. Ltd. in the early 1900's. The pot is fully marked on bottom and is authentic. There looks like a number is signed in red saying 6304p and an S. Not sure what all that means. I have never seen this old of a pot be in such good condition. The designs are totaly intact and not faded. Colors are green, gold, rust, and light brown. Most of the gold edging is still there with only a couple of worn areas. The pot measures 8.5" center diameter and 4.75" in height. The total with handle is 9.75" I have felt around the whole piece and feel NO chips, however there are a few hairline crazing cracks which I have taken pictures of. They are not deep, they are just on the surface. This pot weighs alot so I am shipping ... morepriority flat rate. Chamber pots were used as far back as the 6th century BC. So I went to a favorite antique mall that always has an awesome February sale. Picked up lots of antiques and unique items to list! I also continue to list new items from the farm estate auction, with lookouts more new hardware pieces over the next several weeks. I am also going to one of my favorite flea market shows this weekend, so wish me luck! There’s something for everyone! Ya gotta love antique ironstone- and this beauty comes with its hard to find lid. Too! What I have is a white ironstone chamber pot- marked on the bottom with the double lion crest, Royal Patent Ironstone, and Tomkinson Bro& Co. this English piece will accent your collection or decoration beautifully. The base of the ... morepot measures 10 3/8" wide handle to end, 8 7/8" diameter at the top, and stands 5 3/4" tall. With the lid on, it measures 8" tall to the top of the handle. The pot is in excellent structrual condition, with some minor damage from wear and age(and I'm afraid to say.use! There's a very thin and hard to see hairline crack that runs from the top down 3 1/2" You can see it from the inside too- although only 2" of it on the inside. I'm showing you the outside view in photo 9, and the inside view in photo 18. The pot shows crazing all over, and some darkening due to the crazing toward the bottom of the pot, and some light carmel colored spots on the side, but no other issues, chips or cracks on the body. Turn it over, and you can see a couple of teenie nicks on the very rim of the bottom where it sits on the table/floor- so it has to be upside down to see and they may be original- see photos 19-23. This auction is for a Lovely Antique White Ironstone Chamber Pot and Lid made by Johnson Brothers of England. It is in Very Good condition. Especially for its age, which dates to the late 1800s or early 1900s. There are no chips or cracks or stains or crazing or repairs in the bowl or the lid. The glaze is clear and white is white. There is a very minor grayish/silver"scuff" or lines in the top of the lid(last photo) It doesn't detract from the overall appeal of this Great Find. Antique white chamber pot made in the late 1800's Very nice condition for its age! Bowl measures 8 1/2 inches in diameter and 5 1/4 inches tall Handle extends out another 2 inches and is approx. 4 inches tall Marked ROYAL IRONSTONE CHINA with the stamp of the lion. Crown and unicorn, with CHARLES MEAKIN ENGLAND under it. This printed mark was used on the earliest pottery made at the Burslem Works location. From 1870 to 1882. There are a few expected minor anomalies inherent with hand-made pottery. The inside is quite clean. Close inspection reveals very minor scratches on the bottom from use over 130 years ago. The glazing on the exterior is very nice There are no chips on the top edge. As shown in the photos. There is a very small crack at the top right side of the handle that appears to have been glued, possibly prior to glazing. This ... moreis not very obvious to the eye when on display, and in my opinion it is a minor visual issue. I have tried to be as complete as possible in my description. But I'm not an antique expert and have assessed this chamber pot based on the research I have done. Please look carefully at the photos. As they are part of the description. aAt a recent Estate Sale I picked up this very old Chamber pot. The Chamber Pot was made by John Maddock& Sons from England. The bottom is marked and the marking indicate that this Chamber pot was made sometime around 1906. This is a Royal Semi Porcelain Chamber pot. The Chamber Pot measures 6" tall without lid and 8" tall with lid attached. The pot is 8 1/2" in diameter. The pot is creamy white with decorative handle. The lid also has a decorative handle. The chamber pot is in excellent condition considering it is over 1 100 years old, there is a small chip on the lid, please see my pictures.

Antique Victorian Alfred Meakin England Royal Ironstone China Chamber Pot
This very nice Victorian chamber pot is an English classic as it was part of every home in England during the Victorian period and until modern sewage systems introduced the flush toiled around 1900. This pot may also have been brought to the US during this same period and used as well. It is made from Ironstone with a fine high gloss finish and has a beautiful transparency to it(pictured#1. 2, 4) The under glaze is white and the over glaze is very thick making it transparent looking. It has some vertical lines around it giving it style and a broad serif handle(pictured# 3) It has a raised, curled rim around the top as these pots were used to catch poddie and were usually kept in a wooden commode uncovered. Covered commodes were often much more ornate and sometimes painted with colored glazes and floral patterns these were kept outside of ... morea commode most often in the bedroom near wash stands. Today commodes like this one are used for floor ornaments. Bed/bathroom décor, indoor& outdoor planters or just for fun. It measures 5 1/4" tall X 8 1/2" in diameter around the top and 4" deep.
