Antique Staffordshire MINTON Transferware Chamber Pot Slop Jar w/ insert Blue
An Exceptionally Nice Antique Transferware Chamber Pot/ Slop Jar This piece was recently acquired from an estate in Upstate NY This 19th Century Transferware Piece was crafted by Minton in the Staffordshire district of London circa 1870's, The pattern is Minton's Genevese pattern which is a traditionally romantic scene of slightly Oriental styled buildings in a fantastical landscape with a lush border of florals and foliage. The body is ironstone, This comes with the jar. The scarce insert and the lid. The jar itself has knob handles on each side for the addition of a leather or fabric handle if desired. The knobs are also decorated. The insert fits securely in the top of the jar and is also decoratedon the top side as shown in photos. The lid has profuse decoration. The unit stands approximately 12 1/2" high. The pail is approximately ... more12" from handle to handle. In VERY GOOD condition with no damage or reapirs to either the lid or the insert. The pail has one chip at the base. Below the center image on one side(See photo) The pail has a light overall crazing evident on the exterior but not on the interior and no crazing at all on the insert or lid. Beautiful dark blue transfer on nice creamy white ironstone. It is marked on the base of the pail with the Minton Globe mark and the pattern name in a banner. The lid bears a small. Impressed MINTONS 13(or 18) mark on the underside. it is very difficult to read. The lid also bears impressed marks along the edge reading 51(or 5I) L in a circle and N, Very substantial piece weighing just over 10 pounds unpackaged! Unusua Englishl Antique Chamber Pot w insert
A fabulous antique chamber pot complete with insert which is almost always missing from being broken over the years. This piece is English. Please see markings in photos. Lovely florals throughout and animal head handles. Flaws: there is a hairline on top of lid, visible but you cannot feel it and it is not deep. Next there is a hairline on the inside that is one you can feel and although thin it is through. Lastly there is a chip on lid. All flaws are highlighted in my photos, please view. None of these flaws in my opinion take away from the character and beauty of this piece. It stands 1 foot 2 inches tall and the diameter at the widest part is 11 inches not including the interesting cute handles. THIS CHAMBER POT WAS PURCHASED BY ME IN 2007. IT CAME FROM SOMEONE WHO HAD IT IN THEIR FAMILY FOR FOUR GENERATIONS. IT IS IN GREAT CONDITION. I BOUGHT IT FOR DISPLAY BUT WE HAVE DOWNSIZING AND I NO LONGER HAVE A LACE FOR IT I WILL SEND THE ORIGINAL LITERATURE WITH IT THAT I PRINTER WHEN I PURCHASED IT. IT HAS ALL THE PARTS INCLUDED THE INSERT THAT GOES IN THE BOTTOM OF IT. IT IS VERY NICE. NO CHIPPING OR CRACKING. THE FLOWERS. LEAVES, AND VINES ARE VERY NICE AND COLORFUL. THERE ARE TWO TINY LITTLE CHIPS ON THE EDGE OF THE LID THAT I FOUND BY RUNNING MY FINGERNAIL AROUND THE EDGE. I HAD NOT BEEN ABLE TO SEE THEY BEFORE. I FOUND NO OTHER FAULTS ON IT. Beautiful Rare Vintage Porcelain Chamber Pot, Potty Insert,Collectible,Pottery
Wonderful vintage porcelain chamber pot or potty insert in used vintage condition. All white. Used to have a handle but handle is gone and one metal holder on one side is gone. Very unique. No cracks. very old I believe. I have not seen one on Ebay like this. Great if you need an insert for your potty chair. Hard to find. Also useful for an RV perhaps. Makes a good planter in the garden. very nice shape and style. Measures about 7 inches high by 11 3/4 inches wide by about 11 3/4 inches across. Free standard shipping in the USA only.
