Two antique brown transferware Aesthetic Movement cake plates made by G.W. Turner& Sons of Tunstall. Staffordshire, created between 1873 to 1895, they have an unusual large scale design featuring a gigantic plant and detailed moths. It is the Brazil Pattern. The asymmetrical design has wonderful detail and a landscape scene is even visible on a vase in front of the plant. One of the plates is stamped on the underside with the makers mark"G.W. Turner& Sons/Tunstall/Brazil" and both plates are engraved with an"S" Both plates are in very good condition for age. Crazing on both and some very minimal surface chipping along edge. No cracks or hairlines. Nice 19th C Aesthetic Movement wash basin in red transfer. The condition is VERY good. There are a few light scratches in the bottom which can only be seen when light in reflected across the surface. One firing crack 2" long in the bottom revealing it's age of at least 130 years old. 14 1/2" x 5" tall. The pattern in Benedick and made by G W Turner& Sons of Tunstall. I was told this was from the 1860's.it is marked on the bottom W. Turner&Sons Phileau Tunstall,im not sure what this is,but,it had a fake flower in it and the foam from the flower has left a little of the green inside that will come right out with some cleaning,but,im not sure how to clean this properly because of the age,i dont see any cracks,the only thing i see is the age crazing? i think thats what you call it,but,nice condition and just needs a little cleaning,it measures 5' across and 4 1/4' tall

G.W. Turner & Sons Tunstall CLOVER and daisies transferware platter or tray
Offered here is a lovely transferware small platter or tray. With built-in handles or holds. Based on the Aesthetic Movement design elements I believe this piece to date from the 1880s or so. The service piece measures roughly 8 3/4" by 9" The transfer is black or very dark brown. With tinted areas of pink and yellow, probably done by hand. All-over crazing is typical of Turner pieces, as is the lovely botanical design. Just a really beautiful piece. The color in the photos reads as more white than the piece itself. Which I would describe more as a creamy ivory, or yellowish off-white. A few tiny flecks and small areas of wear, as well as the standard manufacturing flaws. Turner& Sons Benedick transfer pattern pitcher(ewer) and bowl set in blue and white in overall very good antique condition.The bowl measures at 14 1/2" in diameter and 5" in height.The pitcher/ewer measures at 10 7/8" in height,8" in diameter at the widest parts of the bowl(not including handle) and the square spout opening is 4 1/4" wide.This was a part of the"Aesthtic Movement" production that was popular at the time.G.W. Turner& Sons pottery works were located in Tunstall,England and they produced pottery from 1875-1893. Pin holes and discolored. The Turner Worsted Mill. Founded by Joseph Turner in 1878. When the Turner mill failed in 1893, Kaufman Hayes and Geo. H. Hodgson were called in to manage the firm. Oliver M. Stafford succeeded Joshua Turner as president in the late 1890s and, together with Hodgson, reorganized it as the Cleveland Worsted Mill in 1902.

Very nice early Ironstone Soup Tureen made by GW Turner& Sons in Tunstall England. PATTERN: Spring. Which is Tree Branches filled with Blossoming Bunches of Delicate Flowers. Notice the very detailed handles on the dish. G W Turner& Sons was an active British Ironstone manufacturer between 1873 to 1895. Located in Tunstall, Stoke-on-Trent England. This piece is of later vintage, as evidenced by the maker's mark on the underside of the lid and base. We estimate this was produced between 1891 to 1895. Tureen measures over 11" long by about 7" wide. It is 7" tall to the top of the handle. CONDITION: This piece is over 110 years old- considering the age of the dish. It is in very good condition. I have taken pictures of the few minor flaws: Small chip. About 1/8" on the lid. Hard to see. It is pictured in picture ... more11. Imperfections(2) on rim of base of tureen. Less than 1/8" in size. There are two minor ones. See pictures 5 and 7. Loss of glaze on underside of base of tureen. When the bowl is upright you can't see this. When it is flipped over you can. It is loss in the glaze. Antique 1902 London Thomas Bradbury & Sons Turner Bradbury Sterling Bread Basket
Lovely estate purchase basket bowl has the most elegant design. Engraving, pierced work, garlands, all the bells and whistles. The condition is wonderful, it was black, I just polished a bit, light wear and scratches normal stuff but no dings or dents. Measures not quite 10 1/2" across and is 7" across and is 5 3/4" tall at tallest. It weighs 436 G on my postal scale. The mark is Turner Bradbury TB and the mark for London, I am no expert in these things and got my info on the internet, I did see a similar basket on a site for a bit under 3000 pounds, I bought this at a sale last weekend and am doing a buy it now at a reasonable price I think. W. Tyzack Sons& Turner Brass back saw with 20 teeth per inch from Sheffield England. This saw has some gray discoloration and one spot of pitting about an inch above the cutting edge. The saw is in usable condition but could use a sharpening. The handle has no cracks and is solid. I believe it is made out of beach wood but I am not certain of that. Antique Brown Transferware Scenic Tunstall GW Turner & Sons Phileau 9 1/2" Plate
This aesthetic brown transferware plate was made by G. W. Turner& Sons during the late 1800's. It is a good sized plate at 9 1/2" in diameter and is well marked on the back. The background color is more cream than white. It's in very good condition for its age with no chips. Cracks or repairs. There are some light utensil marks and a little glaze wear on the front. There are a couple of partial lines that go around the scene but do not go through to the back. Some visible staining and crazing are seen mostly on the back side. Overall, very nice for its age! Mid-1800s silvered Knight's Arm holding Holly Leaf; Hammond, Turner & Sons 25mm
Large 25mm button that is large enough to have gone on an overcoat. This would date to the mid-1800s. And probably more specifically from the 1840s or 1850s. It's not later than the mid-1860s because by that time the firm's name changed. There is a Confederate Navy button, CS-36A, that was made by this same London firm and it bears their backmark. This button has a very attractive design on the front showing the arm of a armored Knight holding what is probably a Holly Leaf. This may have been a theme popular at that time in England or perhaps a button made specifically for a certain family who used that design on their family crest. These livery buttons were often associated with certain families that would have their family crests. Mottos, etc. on the button used by their employees, servants, etc. These livery buttons were also enormously ... morepopular all over the world, anywhere English textiles and finished products were sold. A modern example is a blue blazer with designs on the buttons. The design(lion, horse, bird, flower, etc. is nothing more than an attempt to recreate a popular look from long ago. Then and now, if you're going to wear a jacket or overcoat to impress, you generally have a design on the buttons. Livery buttons have been dug in Crimean War sites in the Ukraine. I find this combination offers the best of all words. New steel sharpens and holds its edge better and using a vintage handle provides the advantage and craftsmanship not found in the last 100 years. Since I’m using the factory back and handle the hang angle is not adjusted. This angle like rake and fleam is both technical and personal. The Tyzack saws of this vintage used thin plates and I matched the factory.018 as well as the depth and to 16 point pitch. The was sharpened cross cut ... morefor dovetail use. The Tyzack name goes back quite a ways in England and I think the family family origins were in glass and then moved into metal tools and saws. The trademark Elephant who I'll call Babar was picked up in 1879. At there height of production they employed about 500 and produced saw into the 70's. Most of the ones the ones I've owned have been later models with with the brass back. If you've not had the pleasure one think you'll note right off the bat is they all have some heft to them and even though this is an 8" it's still present. The handles were a trademark orange and although might look dated do use nice beach that can easily be sanded and refinished. This one have a hair line crack that was glued. Also included with the same is a FREE second sharpening and you’re only responsible for is shipping. ABOUT THE SAW HANDLE: Has seen use and the finish has worn from the edges. You'll also find a few dings and nicks but nothing out of place for the age. As noted above and in the pictures the saw has a hairline cracked that was repaired. Offered for auction is this lovely large brown transferware water pitcher. It is 11" tall. Very unusual with a square neck. It has a bamboo style handle. Design has floral with some oriental pots. Excellent condition- no chips. Cracks or damage. Nice clean inside, no staining. The bottom mark is G W Turner Sons, Tunstall, Benedick.
