This is a beautiful floral engraved old trumpet or cornet. Sorry. I don't know the difference. I found this at a local estate sale. With the exception of a few tiny dents here and there, it appears to be in good condition. It has mother of pearl on the buttons. It is marked Conical Bore, Patented, E.A.Couturia Co. Ltd. Sole Makers, Laporte, Ind. On the middle#2 cylinder thing it says, Pat. Sept.23'13, Other Pat. Pending Sept. 24, 18. Under that is M 2110. The mouthpiece is marked Karl Fuchs 7. This horn is silver metal. The darkened areas are tarnish, not pitted. I have other photos, if you would like to see more, or if you have any questions, please ask. I will try to answer. 1880s JW Pepper Cornet fully engraved
A early issue(13282) JW Pepper American made cornet in good overall condition. Worthy of restoration. As some pics will show it is fully engraved(including the detachable leadpipe) the welds all hold(though a couple are messy) the slides all pull; the action is decent and the tone is a bit thin but peppy. As for issues: while the crook is in decent shape dent wise. There's some curling in the bell that could be smoothed, three dents by the spit valve to knock out, and a gypsy repair job on a split in the leadpipe using glue(pic 4) No mouthpiece. This lot includes the antique engraved map of New York shown in the corresponding image(s) This 1795 map by Samuel Lewis offers a number of interesting details. To inspect and acquire more detailed information about this lot. Please attend our live preview before the auction. Condition/ Notes: Map measures approximately 23.75" x 17.75" There is no odor. And no marks or writing. The paper is not brittle due to its high rag content. There is one sharp vertical fold located at the east end of Oneida Lake and through Chenengo on the southern border. These folds have torn about 2" in from the map's edges, but the tears do not intrude into the body of the map. There a couple of vertical creases, less sharp than the fold, to the right of it. Light foxing is also visible.

Antique Nautical Engraved Copper Top Sailing Ship Art Table
This is a beautiful Antique Copper Top Nautical Table. The top of this table is a real piece of metal work. The top center depicts a sailing ship on the sea. The whole top is detailed with metal art work. The top including wood is 24 ¾ inches x 16 ¾ inches. The wood frame around the copper top comes off because it seems the former owner attempted to clean and polish the copper many years ago. The 6 screws holding the frame down were not replaced and do not come with the table. The copper can be removed. The only thing holding it in place is the frame that stays down snuggly without the screws(covenant for cleaning) There is some damage to the woodwork on the frame(Photo 11 on the bead work) most likely due to years of use. The legs of the table are wood shaped like lyres(stringed musical instrument) The Table stands 19 ½ inches ... morehigh. You will see craftsmanship all over this ornate nautical table. I have attempted to find the maker of this table with little or no luck. I do not know the age of this table. I was told by knowledgeable antique professional that the lyres indicate primarily makers would be from Britain. Germany and France if it were 17th to 18 century. I do not believe this to be the case. She suggested that it looked like a piece of 19th century American furniture, most likely Duncan Phyfe since lyres were kind of like a Duncan Phyfe trade mark since they used lyres on so much Duncan Phyfe furniture. She was stumped by the nautical copper top. She suggested it may have been a modified Duncan Phyfe or other manufacturers table done by a artist coppersmith. Who knows, it’s a mystery. I do know this is a wonderful solid piece of art. I will leave the detective work for the new owner. There is some slight water stains on the wood. There is some patina on the copper. It looks as though the previous owner attempted to clean the copper top with a metal cleaner and left white residue in the rough areas on the top. The"bezel" or center part of this ring depicts a stylized starburst design which though pagan in origin, was co-opted by the Christians and evolved into a stylized depiction known as a“Stellata Cross” In hand the engraving of the starburst, or“Stellata Cross” engraving is fairly clear and easy to discern. It’s a little more difficult to discern in these images, as the design is worn and pebbled to the point of being somewhat faint.
