Expect Good-minus and Fair to have considerable wear. All specific condition faults are noted after the general condition. SCANS: The scanner bed is 11" x 17" so the full sheet is shown. 1694 Cluver Map of East Indies, South East Asia
1694 Cluver Map- India Orientalis et Insularum Philip Cluver(Cluverius) along with Christoph Keller(Cellarius) was one of the first geographical and historical authors to use different sets of maps to embellish their popular works. Cluver's magnum opus was'Introductionis in Universam Geographicam' which was issued in various sized editions from about 1650 to the mid-1700's. This attractive map of the East Indies comes from the 1694 edition of'Introductionis. The map covers India in the west to New Guinea to the east. It includes the Phillipines. China, Java, Sumatra, Borneo, Siam, Cambodia, Pegu, Ceylon. There is an attractive title cartouche. This map of Yokohama Japan was provided to tourists by Brett's Pharmacy. The map is from the early 20th century. Most likely 1913 even though it is not dated on the map. The pharmacy was destroyed in the great earthquake of 1923. Most of these maps were thrown away or destroyed, so very few exist today. The front and back are red and the map is folded inside. The map is very detailed and informative. This map would look great in your collection! Condition: The map is in very good condition for its age with minal wear and tear. It does have a small stain on the top left hand side. It has very minor corner and edge wear. On the top right side it has a very small ... moretear. Beautiful 88 year old map of the Island of Luzon.
This is a Beautiful 1922 Crams map of the Island of Luzon. Philippine Islands. It measures a shy 15 X 11 1/2 inches. This map is genuine. Not a copy or reprint. It may have a few handling flaws as to be expected in a map this age. Please enlarge upper scan for condition of map. Map was taken from the 1922 edition of Cram's Modern Atlas which is near impossible to obtain. We take special care in shipping these maps as there are no replacements. Nice Antique Map c1900 "Japan Annual Rainfall"
Up for sale is a nice color map c 1900 published by"Permission fo(SP) the Meterological Observatory. Tokyo" for the very rare Murray's Handbook. This map is entitled"Japan Annual Rainfall" There were a couple editions so this could be as late as 1903 but also earlier. This map is approximately 9x7 inches and is in nice shape. Printed in Great Britain by George Philip& Son. Fine original antique folio color map. Made approximately 80 years ago. Printed in the mid 20th century. On quality paper which retains its inherent structural flexibility and soundness. Nicely detailed. A very lovely and beautifully printed map. Shows submarine cables all across the region, as well as Colonial possessions by a color key below title. A scarce early 20th century map most collectors would not own due to the huge size and very uncommon source(Hamonds New World Loose Leaf Atlas. Which was regularly updated with new map sheets, meaning the old ones created specifically for it were ... morediscarded when replaced) In near VG or better condition[note: we grade very conservatively and always seek to disclose any noteworthy flaws] The printed area remains visually pleasing. A nice impression of an interesting image. Combined sheets measure c. 25" W x 19 3/4" H. Combined printed areas measure c. 23 3/4" W x 17 1/2" H. 1929 map of the Philippine Islands. From a scarce 1929 edition of Hammond's Loose Leaf Atlas. The whole sheet measures 13 1/2 X 20 inches. Extra large margins and no folds make this map a wonderful property to behold. The historical information is a treasure. The map shows some handling. But would look great framed.
