Wapello County. Iowa Soil Survey and Map Iowa Agricultural Experiment Station Book. 1919 Map. 1917 CONDITION: The book is in good condition with no writing or tears. The cover has come loose at the first staple. But it is only the cover and does not include any pages. There is wear to the edges and the upper left and lower right corner are slightly creased. There is age related yellowing. The map measures 30 1/4" x 21 1/2" There are a no pencil notations on the map. There is age related yellowing, but the colors remain bright. Cellophane tape was used to repair a tear approximately 5" in length where the map is attached to the back cover of the book. Otherwise there are a few holes where the fold creases intersect. There is a pencil notation in the top center margin and some pencil lines within the map itself. I note five other tears. All in the fold creases. You will see pencil notations in the margins. There are tears in the fold creases. Nine total ranging from 1/4" to 1 1/4" in length. In the lower right corner you can see that one such tear has chipped away. There are seven other tears along the edges, ranging from 1/8" to 1/2" in length. I am not an expert.
