Wapello County. Iowa Soil Survey and Map Iowa Agricultural Experiment Station Book. 1919 Map. 1917 CONDITION: The book is in good condition with no writing or tears. The cover has come loose at the first staple. But it is only the cover and does not include any pages. There is wear to the edges and the upper left and lower right corner are slightly creased. There is age related yellowing. The map measures 30 1/4" x 21 1/2" There are a no pencil notations on the map. There is age related yellowing, but the colors remain bright. Cellophane tape was used to repair a tear approximately 5" in length where the map is attached to the back cover of the book. Otherwise there are a few holes where the fold creases intersect. Clarke County IOWA Soil Survey Map 1923
Clarke County. Iowa Soil Survey Map 1923 28 1/2" wide x 21 1/2" high CONDITION: The colors are bright. In the past four tears were repaired with cellophane tape which has yellowed. There is a pencil notation in the top center margin and some pencil lines within the map itself. I note five other tears. All in the fold creases. The largest being 3 3/4" and extending to left for 1/4" The others range in size from 1" to 1/8" I am not an expert. And have described this item to the best of my abilities. There are no tears or markings in the book. You can see a slight curling to the book edges from storage, as seen in the photograph of the Contents page. There is a slight discoloration to the cover consistent with age. CONDITION. MAP: Very Good. The colors on the map remain bright. There are no markings present. There are two tears, one 2 1/4" in length in a fold crease and the other is 2 1/2" in length where the map is attached to the back cover. Shipped with cardboard backing for protection. There are two tears in the fold lines. One at the top margin which is 2 1/2" in length and the other 1/4" in length along the bottom margin.
