Mostly delineated inland from the coast but with unresolved borders. The Maghreb is described evocatively as the"country of dates" and camel caravan routes across the Sahara are indicated. Fully or partly delineated states or regions include Algeria, Tunis, Fezzan, Tripoli, Egypt, Nubia, Abyssinia, Kordofan, Darfur, Dar Zaleh, Begharmi, Kanem, Bornou, Houssa, Senegambia, Biafra, Loango, Congo, Angola, Benguella, Cape Colony, Caffraria& Mozambique. Nice old road map for the state of Missouri with famous Route 66. This is in nice condition but has wear especially along the fold lines. It is not dated but I believe is from the 1920's and includes dirt roads. I will gladly combine items to save postage fees. NO RESERVE ON THIS ITEM. Old map of the"Post Route Map Of The State Of Iowa, Showing Post Offices With The Intermediate Distances On Mail Routes" January 1, 1942" The map is folded and when opened measures appx 35" by 51" Listed are Counties in Iowa. The"Explanation" lists Post Offices. Both Summer and Discontinued, Railroads, Routes including, one, twice, three and 6 time a week. The best is the Air Mail Route which shows a red line with small red airplanes flying in the correct direction! There are some tears at the creases. One square is discolored. Very neat map! Postal collectibles RARE Vintage 1916 Post Route Map of Kansas
This offering is for a vintage Post Route Map of Kansas published by the order of Postmaster General A.S. Burleson 1 January. 1916. Map is in good shape. It is nearly 100 years old so there are small tears. Discolorations, and frays won would expect with such a document. A fabric backing was added(no doubt to keep the map from tearing) which has preserved the map well. It has the typical wear and tear one would expect from an antique map that has been folded and unfolded for 98 1/2 years. There is writing in black ink along the top right hand side of the map. See pictures for condition.
