Antique John Moses Glasgow Pottery Co. Stoneware China White Bed Pan and Urinal Made in Trenton. N.J. USA. Stamped on the bottom of the pan. Is a version of the British Royal Coat of Arms, Stoneware China" and"J.M. Co. This is one of the marks used by the Glasgow Pottery Co. The Glasgow Pottery Co. of Trenton. N.J. was founded in 1863 by John Moses and remained in operation until around 1902. The pan is in good condition with no chips or breaks. The pan has crazing. Some discoloration, some dark spots, and some cracking around the urinal, which appears to be under the glaze. The pan measures approximately 17" long. 11 1/2" wide, and 5" tall. Excellent condition. No chips. Cracks, or damage of any kind. I know this is a collectible medical device, but I also thought it would make a great planter! It measures 14" long edge to tip, and the diameter of the bedpan is about 10.5" It is 3" tall. Marked Boots the Chemists on the bottom. Approximate age is early 1900's. This is also an unusual design and shape for a bedpan/male urinal. Neat old item straight from England!

It has 2 small holes in the back for hanging that does not enter into the vessel portion, keeping the"area for use" water tight: Would make a great gift for a nurse. You could put ivy or silk plants in it and hang it on the wall as a planter. Beautifully crazed to show its age, but there is no maker's mark or identification to definitively know its heritage or age. Heavy, with its durability standing the test of time. Here is a nice clean. Jones enamel bed pan with built in urinal. It Includes the base and lid. This pan has been thoroughly cleaned, although it looked like it was never used. It is a pretty white, and cobalt blue. The sticker shows some wear but is intact and readable.
