Rattanakosin era Temple Buddha Statue of bronze with black lacquer and flame gilding. This piece is magnificent and large and heavy. This statue measures 27 inches from the base to the top! Some of the gilding has worn off over time but it is still a nice size and has incredible presence and was made the old way with lost wax casting and flame gilding. I do not know if any parts have been re gilded over the years or not? This Buddha measures 5 3/4" x 4 1/2" x 3 1/2" It is in very nice condition. The Buddha weighs 1.06Kgs. Wat Changhai is situated at Naparu. Koppo District, Pattani, Thailand. It was built over three hundred years ago. It was also the place where Luang Phor Thuad gained Enlightenment. Luang Phor Thuad(LP Thuad) is a legendary monk of times past. In our generation. Depicts Buddha seated while playing a musical instrument, eyes half closed in a divine gaze. Made of bronze with lost wax method, the Buddha was gold leaf gilt. The fine rare artisanship demonstrates the depiction of Buddha as king with the elaborate garb and crown. The piece bears a beautiful black patina. Circa 1890s. Dimensions: 11” h. X 9” w. X 6” d.

A very serene and peaceful Thai vintage or antique bronze statue of the Buddha in the"Touching the Earth" or Bhumisparsha mudra.Beatifully detailed and ornate throne and a nice piece for a personal altar or display.It has the facial expression and the presence images like this try to capture and rarely do.At just shy of 12 inches tall.10 inches wide it is a nice size and on the heavy side.A very small chip missing in the corner of the base.Took a closeup for you to see that this does not distract from the powerful and peaceful presence this statue creates.Warm"glowing" golden type patina makes it a very nice piece for display. Antique Gilt Bronze Thai Buddha Guardian Figure Solid Bronze Jeweled
This is a solid bronze gilded and jeweled Buddhist Guardian Figure in Royal Costume with a Bow. This piece is solid bronze with gilding and glass or jewel pieces inlayed. It is very intricate and well done and solid. This piece measures just over 6 inches tall and weighs over a pound. It is nice solid bronze. This wonderful estate piece has been in the a Philadelphia collection antiques collection for many years(our local shop believes this is a 19th century piece.possibly older) There are areas of bronze oxydation. Pitting, and in general, wear and tear. Scratches, dings, holes, etc. that are appropriate to its age. Buddha head from a local estate art and antiques collection.
