Simple. Classical, and timeless mahogany piece from the mid-to-late 1800s that can serve as a sideboard, buffet, or library table. The top is one solid plank of mahogany, 21 1/4" by 45 3/4" by 1 1/8" deep; there is a old crack on one end(see picture) It stands 31 3/8" tall. The frame has two large drawers. 19 3/8" across by 5 1/8" deep, with, I believe, pine interiors and the original turned wood handles. The legs also are beautifully turned have brass end caps with wheels(replacements) The piece has its original finish; in other words.It has not been refinished, and it boasts a beautiful rich color. 1880s Antique Quarter-Sawn Oak Empire Style Sideboard, with lacquer finish
This beautiful Empire style sideboard was crafted with. Quarter-Sawn(Tiger Oak) The re-finishing was recently done, exposing a wonderful grain and texture with a golden oak stain and lacquer finish. Purchased in 1993 from a local owner and used in my family for 20 years. It has the original key(locks work) and the original wheels on feet. The mirror has the original silvering, and does have some minor small flaws but only in the edges. Dimensions are approximate only, as this is currently in a consignment shop. 22" deep, 60" wide and 38" tall. The mirror is about 14" tall. Beautiful Antique English Hutch secretary- Late 1800's with secret compartment
This hutch was purchased at an antique auction many years ago. And although I do not know the exact year of production, it does date back to the 1880's and was shipped to the United States from England. On the secretary writing surface, there is a piece with a Reg D No. 458784, as pictured. This is solid wood, and there are absolutely no scratches or chips in the beautiful leaded glass doors. All locking mechanisms work fine, and there are 3 original keys included. Possibly the most unique feature about this piece is the secret compartment- If you lift up on the top of the hutch, there is a secret space at the top for hiding money, home security, jewelry, etc. Just think about what could have possibly been stored secretly in this space since the 1880's. I love this piece. But it's time for it to go live with someone else a while. It's an 1800s vintage mixed-wood(mostly oak) sideboard with three drawers across the top and two doors on either side. One door has two shelves inside, the other a shelf and a deep drawer. It's not as hard to move as it might seem. The top comes off and one of the columns actually separates from the pedestal(though you can't tell when it's set up. It's stained dark and has some beautiful fretwork on the drawers and doors. LARGE ANTIQUE FEDERAL STYLE FLAME MAHOGANY SIDEBOARD BUFFET COLUMNS LION FEET
Here is an absolutely delightful large antique federal style sideboard or buffet with gorgeous flame mahogany veneers. Columns with detailed carving above and below with very detailed fabulous carved lion's feet on the front legs. The large lovely cabinet has a really nice top surface with a number of faint or light scratches but no major gauges, stains, chips or other serious damage to the top as I attempt to show in my photographs. It is a somewhat oversize functional piece of furniture and perfect for a front entry hall, hallway, dining room or any room in your home or business. It has three drawers and three large open cabinets with lots of extra storage in a classic 19th century Federal style sideboard in very nice condition and ready to make a statement in your home or office. The original metal hardware is all intact and sort of ... morea floral, perhaps a peony, in shape and are attached through into recessed holes within the drawers as shown. Investing just a bit into the minor repairs to the veneer to restore this great buffet to it's former glory will make this piece even more special and valuable if you prefer antiques restored and in near perfect condition. This beautiful sideboard stands 44 1/2 inches tall to the top surface of the sideboard and 49 3/4 inches tall to the top of the serpentine mantle across the back edge. It measures 63 inches long at it's widest point at the outside of the beautifully carved lion's feet on the front legs and the top surface board is 61 3/4 inches long. The piece is 24 3/8 inch deep front to back. Again at the deepest point at the lion's feet which protrude beyond the front of the drawers and cabinets, and 21 3/4 inch front to back at the top surface board and general body of the sideboard. There are two drawers on either side of a slightly smaller drawer across the top of the sideboard. All clean within and beautifully hand dovetailed. Circa 1850. The chiffonier boasts an elongated original mirrored back with a moulded frame and stunning carved central pediment depicting a pheasant interspersed in a floral frame. Flanking the central pediment are two carved supports, which sit on top of the frame. Below this, the mirrored frame features two carved corbels. The frame terminated on raised shaped panels. The mirrored back is attached to the base with screws, which means the chiffonier can be used with or without the mirror. The single piece top base consists of two large pedestals with two smaller central doors below a cushion-moulded drawer. All four doors boast inset moulded mahogany panels. Elegant floral round rosette carvings adorn the frame of the chiffonier base. The chiffonier comes with the original working locks and a key to the two central doors and two large pedestal doors. A 19th century English brandy board in mahogany with turned legs and inlay. It measures approximately 34.75" tall. 50-1/8" wide, and just shy of 24.5" deep. The deep drawer on the right is a cellarette, and there is a hidden drawer bottom center below the one with the pulls. This piece was actually used as a prop on the set of the television series Sleepy Hollow. It is in good condition overall, with normal surface wear commensurate with age and use. The brasses have been replaced. There are dings, scratches, and imperfections found commonly on antique furniture, particularly in the area of the top drawer. Offered is a very nice 2 door server in possible mid 1800s empire style with scrolled fee and columns. This piece is quite unique because of its size: 36 inches length. 17.5 inches depth, and 29.5 inches height. I get enough questions and interest in cabinets of this shape but most of them are quite a bit larger in length and somewhat in height and depth. Gorgeous antique sideboard with ornately carved mirror topper. Top is not original to the piece but has been displayed with it for many years. There are a few blemishes that may come off with a good cleaning but may require refinishing. Very heavy piece. Buffet is currently sat on top of plywood for ease in moving(by previous owners) but there is no damage I can see to the bottom. Mirror back is currently held with nails(also previous owners) needs some repair but the wood is in very good condition.
